I am spitting bullets here! Toy Shelties? Bah!

I'm horrified by this! They may not be puppy mill so not subject to being raided by the SPCA, but I would report them anyway to be put on watch. You might also want to alert any rescue agencies in your area. Sometimes they have resources available to them to help prevent future breedings such as this.

Not that im defending them, but you can not just go reporting people because you do not agree with what they are breeding for/towards. This country is thankfully not a dictatorship with its dog laws....not yet anyway...:rolleyes2:

We're talking Canada not US here. Different rules, different laws. And Canada is particularly sensitive at the moment because of the recent puppy mill crack downs....now is a good time to keep authorities on the alert.

I believe this breeder is not a puppy mill, but sue would not hurt for her to be visited, don't you think?

I would never support the breeding of dogs that do not meet the breed standard, but other than poor judgement and ignorance about what makes a breed a breed, what exact laws have been broken here that need "watching". :confused2:

You yourself state you don't think they are a puppy mill.

They are not doing anything different than any other extreme breed does. Some breeds have high mortality rates, some require c-sections, some have to have their eyes sewn open as puppies.

Please, remember that karma is a bitch. You "reporting" someone for breeding dogs you don't agree with, and not for any actual welfare issue will come back to you. What next? Are you going to report people who breed sable to blue? Or how about all the Other breeds you don't agree with?

I don't care where you live, what you are doing is a witch hunt, and just flat out wrong.

This "breeder" is in the U.S. If you google teacup shelties you will get their big website. I cannot report them since it is not illegal. I can just send emails like anyone else who wants to. The info is out there concerning bad breeding.

BUT PLEASE try to refrain from doing this. You will only give the site more "hits" which only benefits this breeder.

I did not think of this. I guess no matter what you try, you cannot change minds, you can just get correct infornation on the WWW and hope people see it.

While none of us approve of the breeding of teacup shelties, I do not think she should be reported or watched. With the AR fanatics out there, we don't need to be encouraging them to go after the average breeder out there who are just breeding their pets. In the eyes of the AR people, we are one in the same, and, according to them, we should all have people watching us, and laws pushed through to keep every single one of us from breeding dogs.
The better thing to do is try to educate, both this breeder, and potential sheltie buyers, and to speak with your wallet, and not buy a puppy from them.
All it takes is one nut to harm someone really doing nothing wrong. When I still lived in the city, my new neighbor decided he didnt like my dogs barking (despite him having two yorkies who started it every time) so he would regularly call animal control. I had countless different officers out who never saw anything wrong. Then I had an AR nut out, and was constantly harrassed, and watched, and they sent fake puppy buyers to try to get access to my home (didnt work... I didnt have puppies, and knew very well no one had given a potential buyer my address to come see puppies so I told them no I did not have puppies, and no, I would not let them in), and this continued as they were on a witch hunt, with their new AR dog laws, and were looking to set an example, so I finally moved out of the city. No breeder, so long as they are taking care of their dogs, should have to deal with the **** I dealt with.
We don't have to like what another does. We don't have to buy their puppies. We need to educate them... but in the end, we all have to stand together, as the AR people are after us ALL, and if we don't, we will all lose our rights to breed dogs, and eventually, to even own dogs.

Would we even have shelties if people didn't crossbreed? I am not a fan of designer puppies, like ya'll, but that's how we got a lot of our favorite recognized breeds today. I bet we will see a few of the more popular designer breeds eventually become recognized in our lifetime.
