I think he is...

I won't hold my breath or anything but I think for the first time Toby might have let me know he had to go potty....outside!

Congrats! Once they get it the first time, its amazing how quickly if progresses from there! Just keep up the vigilance, and of course, the big praise and rewards!

Isn't it so great when they do that and you think to yourself 'at last' he's got it.' Of course then they figure out you will open the door for barking and a whooole new set of complications sets in:lol:

Of course when I leave my DH home with the pets, Toby poops on the floor :uhoh:. Yet I will still cling onto the baby step from yesterday when he looked right at me, whined and pottied as soon as I took him out!

Since he was 11 weeks old and had the horrible back yard fiasco, we haven't been comfortable letting him freely, (of course with us with him), go, and go potty. However now that he's 5 months old and hopefully has a stronger GI, we're letting him.

Hooray for Toby! Hopefully he got a party thrown in his honor!

Don't worry--there will be some steps back, but this is clear sign that he knows what he's supposed to do!
