Jealous much?

Ah, yes! Pierre was supremely jealous over Duncan when he first came home. Making sure he gets his own loves is how he relaxed. Duncan is now jealous if Abbie gets love. Too cute, but I want him to know it is my decision to choose who I pat and I try my best to ignore him if he is being obnoxious (he whines soo pitifully). I will pat her and give him love when I'm done and he's calmed down. When I get home from work, though, I CANNOT pay attention to another dog first. He howl/scream/whines like he's been tortured until I pick him up and squish him to me - and then he grunts like "we're done here." But if I put him down, he's on my heels to get picked up again... sigh.

Dogs are jealous creatures just like humans.

There's definitely sibling rivalry between Sadie and Ginny. If I'm petting Sadie or giving her attention, Ginny will insert herself between Sadie and I or even push her out of the way some times. Ginny will growl and Sadie and bite at Ginny's legs, but its more of a bossy little play growl and she only mouths, she never bites. Sadie is such a sweat girl and always lets her get her way. I usually make Ginny move and continue giving Sadie attention, until I think Ginny has waited patiently long enough.

When Ginny is getting attention Sadie will just stare at me with what I can only describe as a very disapproving look. Sadie always hated to cuddle or sit on my lap in the car until we brought Ginny home. Now Sadie happily cuddles up to me and sits regally on my lap looking out the window when given the opportunity. These are both things that Ginny LOVES. :rolleyes2:

Bailey doesnt care if i pet another dog or pet one of my other dogs. The only time she barks and demands to be pet is when i come home from work. Other than that, she can care less who i pet, kiss or hold.

Haha, I seriously think Bailey and Megan could be related as she does the same things.

Bentley is the same way. He is actually probably happy when I pet another dog. Less time that I am forcing my affections on him! :) But, when I come home, he and Lexi fight for pets and cuddles.

That is so funny....I was just posting to Randi that Bailey and Megan must be related bc she could care less who I pet or hold . I have to force my affections onto Megan as well..I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a "fine hold me if you must, go ahead be all pathetic and needy" Sheltie..

Maggie has always been jealous. She was that way with Katie especially. She would get right between me and Katie and with Zak she is better does not get between either of us and him as much and most times Zak does not care if she does he just stays put. Maggie gets very aggitate if she is being held and Zak wants attention then she does have a different snap that means business. She was that way with Katie and sometimes she would go after Katie when jealous. She just likes Zak so much more.

McKinley absolutely hates to be cuddled here at the house, and really doesn't want to be cuddled up at Teddy's, he just doesn't want Teddy to be cuddled.

He does, the whole...."fine hold me if you must, go ahead be all pathetic and needy" but I don't like being cuddled.

He was such a little cuddle bug when he was tiny. **sigh** just like human kids.......................

The New Guy's the Jealous One!

This really made me laugh. I was worried that Katie would be upset (after being Her Sublime Sheltiness the Empress Katie for 7 years) when I brought Laddie home. She did go with me when I picked him up and they were very well behaved in the back seat of the car. I knew Laddie would need extra special loving attention. Katie didn't mind at all. It's Laddie who starts whining and "hooting" (he has a high-pitched bark) when I'm giving Katie her TLC. I'm teaching them the "it's Katie's turn, it's Laddie's turn" thing - mostly for his benefit, and he is getting better at it. I think once they realize they are both getting lots of lovin' they won't be quite as jealous!

Juliet will do that - if she hears me praising Romeo she will drop everything and run to me and see what's up and why she isn't getting in on the action.

Romeo on the other hand, doesn't quite care. SIGH!
