...............the dog is, that is!! lol!
We don't have very many people who come over to our house--like, at all. I only have work friends and we don['t socialize outside of work and all of Richard's sees his friends when he goes out and has gigs. Well, yesterday we had two of Richard's friends come over to use our computer and Ellie was a COMPLETE idiot! When we walk her, she is made to sit politely while people pet her and we can get her to do that, so I never thought we would have a problem of this magnatude in the house. She jumped and jumped and jumped on these poor people and tried to hump the guy's arm when he reached down to push her off! We told them to ignore her and turn their back on her when she jumped up and it did NOT work, it made her even more anxious to get their attention so she turned up the volume. I had to put her on a leash the whole time they were here.
What is up with this dog? She has a similar problem with us which is really weird....depending on which door we come in.
When I come home from work, I come in through the garage door. Ellie runs to greet me, and had been taught not to jump on me, which she doesn't. She wags her tail and licks my hand. She is as good as gold. However--if Richard or I go out the FRONT door and are gone for even two seconds and come back in--she is nuts! She lunges and jumps hysterically. She throws herself at us and barks and twirls and is basically a complete idiot. What IS the deal? The only thing we can figure out is that DH takes her on a ride almost daily and she LOVES that and they go out the front door. Maybe she thinks we are going on a ride without her if we go out the front door? She gets corrected each time she does this and when we go out for walks (which she loves) we go out the front door, but it is a very structured departure. She has to sit in front of the door and wait while the door is opned. She is not allowed to go out the front door until she is told. When we come back, it is the same way. She is made to sit in front of the door and made to wait while the door is opened and she is not allowed to go in until she is allowed. So, you see, it is not a free-for-all at the front door, so I don't have a clue why she consistently acts like an idiot when we go in or out of the front door or what we can do to stop it, since we correct her consistently when she does this. HELP!!

Why he picks those 2 makes no sense. He doesn't do it to Cindy or I or anyome else. I think it's probably a puppy thing. He associates the front door with either company or the pizza delivery guy.
