Laddie's cancer spread...

I lost Laddie tonight.
He collapsed in the kitchen and couldn't stand. He threw up and I gave him the anti nauseous pill. He could not lift his head and his gums were white.
My friend drove me to the emergency vet and he was crashing. They took him back to triage him and the doctor came back with a syringe full of blood she had taken from his abdomen. He was bleeding internally. He was dying. Euthanasia was the only option. Just so sad.
I know I was blessed that he made it a year past his diagnosis... but it still hurts!
 
Oh no, I am so sorry to read this. Tears are rolling down my face. Godspeed, Laddie. He was a lucky dog to have you looking out for him.
 
My heart is so heavy for you Gloria, that must have been traumatic. At least there was no doubt or second guessing that it was time, he rallied with your good care to extend his life. It is just mind-boggling the pain when we lose them... most of us here have gone down that path and we all know and feel for your loss. Many, many hugs to you.

Take care of yourself, you have earned a rest. Hug your dogs tight and may they comfort you as only they can.
 
Oh Gloria I am so so very sorry for your loss and I'm heartbroken that it was in such a traumatic manner...Laddie was so lucky to have you :cry:
 
Oh Gloria I am so sorry to read this, I really feel with you, it hurts so much every time we lose a fur friend.

It does not hurt less - even if we are aware of the way it goes, but imagine Laddie was so lucky to be in your home with all your love :hugs
 
Gloria, I am so sorry. :( No matter how old they are, it is never easy. You gave Laddie a fantastic life and were there for him until the very end. May he rest in peace.
