Yep...potty training is hard enough with one but more than twice the fun with two. I take Ember and Angus out and they have a GREAT time running around. They generally get their business done within a few minutes of going out, but if we are outside an hour you HAVE do the 2 hour countdown to back outside from when the FIRST pup did the FIRST poo...not from when you come back inside. My fave is bringing them back in and having one or both trot happily to the pad in the Xpen and pee there after being outside for an hour or two. Bean heads!
This is where my hubby thinks I am completely insane...when I notice them circling outside I chant "go potty go potty" and when they go outside I heap on a bunch of praise "GOOD potty, GOOD potty". Yeah, I feel stupid as a doggie poo cheerleader BUT then when you have nasty weather or are on a trip or in a rush or WHATEVER you can take the dog out and say "go potty" and they'll assume the position. You can also say it again in the few minutes BEFORE going back inside. Because YOU know you're taking them in for 2 or 4 hours but they can't read minds!
It takes time. Sort of like when you have a pre-school or kindergarden age child that is so busy playing that they won't go in to the bathroom in time. They have to develop their awareness and a capacity on their systems AND you have to work on a schedule and a regular set of cues to let them know what you want.

) and decided that keeping the vet appointment is still the way to go. I think he may have a small puppy-objection to the possibility of a shot - but better safe than sorry, right?!
