Lump aspiration

Cody had one on his eye. Simple procedure, two stitches, no issues. Never came back. The vet told us it was like a skin tag. This is photo was taken the day after it was removed.

Wow, that is amazing... Looking that good so soon after the surgery!
Gives me hope! Thanks for posting!

Boy I am so glad to hear you caught Micky's cancer so quickly and averted a real crisis. We found Ally's toe sarcoma pretty quickly too so all she had to lose was that one toe. It really does pay to check your dogs over frequently; that Sheltie coat can hide a lot of stuff. Like the time (we figured out later) Ally got a bad thermal burn on her back by crawling under the hot BBQ to lick the grease drippings! The hair was not singed but it cooked the skin underneath!!!! :eek2: We found it the next day.

So glad he's going to be OK and also Sketch's lump was just a lipoma. I think you deserve a very long break from these events! :hugs

Once again I have had reaffirmed how critically important daily full body checks are for our little dogs.

Monday night, while grooming our black pommie boy, Dante, I found a very small flesh collared lump on one side of his anal area. Immediate trip to the vet's Tuesday morning and the dx was a perianal adenoma. The majority of these tumors are benign and hopefully the tissue biopsy results will come back good for our little lad. Dante is undergoing surgery this morning and the poor little guy will have a pretty painful butt for several days...not a nice place to get cut! But even if this tumor is/was benign it had to be removed as these tumors grow large and often bleed and infect.

I just have to pop in and give my 2 cents..

Gavin had a bump biopsied (real tiny bump on his 'ankle' that was only found cause it made his fur puff out) and it was sarcoma...that one needed radiation because invasiveness and location prevented complete removal.

....I found another bump that felt like a big bite..that was a mast cell tumor. This one was on his rump and was really really hard to find cause the hair is coarser there. Hard to find as in when I had the vet in to check both his bumps I couldn't find it and thought it had resolved (this meant 2 surgeries instead of 1, which I still beat myself up about). And when we had it taken out, it took me and the vet tec 5 minutes to find it!

thankfully the mast cell tumor was removed with clean margins so no further treatment.

Check all those bumps!

Poor Dante. Sending good thoughts for a smooth surgery and good biopsy results. Hoping the recovery isn't too painful for him too. Thanks for the great advice about the daily checks!

Thanks Hannah and Pam. Dante is doing well everything considered and his incision site looks good. He has a big bare butt now since they had to shave a large circle...but thankfully he doesn't care about that! :smile2:

So glad everyone is getting a good report after surgery!

Must be the month for it. Rogue had one of those eyelid growth removed last week. He had a couple stitches that are so tiny I can't even see them.
