From time to time, we'll have a puppy who loves to take one little loop of yarn from the rug... and then pull... mom has gotten very good with her little rug-hook!

And when Tansy was a baby, her "thing" was to reach under the rugs and bite off a chunk of the rubber pad. Then she'd walk around the house, chewing it like gum.

Fortunately, Geordie-boy hasn't developed either of these proclivities!
 
Geordie is really a gorgeous boy, Connie. He'll make a stunning show dog. I hope he turns out to be everything you want and more! :yes:

Oh...I sure could have used your talent and your rug hook with my first Sheltie rescue!!! One day all was nice and quiet in the house, I should have realized TOO quiet. Finally, I went to see what our rescue boy, Yoda, was up to...because he usually was right in the middle of everything. I found Yoda, looking totally thrilled with himself, surrounded by by a pile of pulled yarn from one of my favorite smaller CM rugs...almost half the rug no longer existed! He was so happy I didn't have the heart to tell him he was a bad boy...he wouldn't have understood anyway. Yoda always thought everything in whole world was made just for him to play with...he was a total goofball.

Not a bad idea! I grew up watching Reading Rainbow, and I have a big soft spot for LeVar Burton. <3

Actually... his REAL name is George. He was a singleton puppy and the fattest, cutest, most spoiled baby imaginable. So, as a little princeling, and as he was born in August 2013, he needed a royal name. :biggrin2:

but Mom didn't like the name George. So Geordie he is.
 
He's really lovely Connie - super expression even at this age and even markings just perfect! Will watch his development with interest, I hope he turns out to be everything you hope for and follows in his talented parents' footsteps! :fl The first thing I thought of with the name was Geordie=Newcastle but I guess that would be natural for someone from UK - but I'm also a bit of a Trekkie too! Was it inspired by your visit to our green and pleasant land? :winkgrin:

Must say as well as admiring the puppy I was also very taken with the rug, I've never seen one like it before. Revel used to eat the rubber backing too - made a big hole in my carpet when he was a puppy and ate some rug fringes but thankfully he really did grow out of those habits!
 
Yes Julia! His name was inspired by our vacation to your lovely country. He will always be a reminder of a magical, once in a lifetime trip.
