Meet Kis-Kis (Kismet)

I have been missing the energy of my dear Deska, who kept me entertained constantly with his antics. So it is nice to have that again with the crazy puppy, I just wish Deska was here - unlike Tully I think Deska would have loved a puppy to play with.

Plus it's probably not great timing, I can't throw this cold and my back is playing up (I had surgery on it 18mths ago) and that does make it harder. I really need to be taking her out to socialise. And I'd have to leave Della at home after yesterday's disaster (Della went into melt down and the pup was petrified and I slammed my finger in the car door).

My Burmese is pacing and pacing the house, bored after spending a month in the cattery. If only she wasn't scared of the pup, they would be a perfect match for playing.
 
Hmm, I see another benchtop surfer in my future...
I was at the computer, heard a little yap and turned around to see this. Kiss was very pleased with herself. I wasn't!

Day 5 with the demon spawn, whoops I mean Kiss-kiss has been interesting. She's proving herself an early agility hopeful.

In the kitchen and suddenly there's a puppy next to me - I could swear that puppy was previously in her x-pen. Anyone have advice for keeping her in?
She can now jump on the couch, and has discovered a really fun trick of climbing onto the arm of the chair and leaping off. Almost as much fun as the game of running to the top of the stairs, jumping onto the potplant to get even higher and then launching into mama's arms.
Garbage bags have all sorts of fun things in them.
The broom and my pick-up stick are evil and need to be killed (I remember that one with Mr D).
She's giving lip to Tully and the cats, they growl or hiss and she just barks back at them.
Oh and those teeth, chewing everything shoes, power cords, clothes, paper.

Would all be fun but I've come down with a shocking cold and fever and just want to sleep it off. But the worse thing is she's taken to chewing tissues and toilet paper, not unusual in a puppy but you'll know what a tragic thing that is if you've been getting the corona virus panic buying over there. Heck I had to drive all around town just to get some paper towels to clean up the accidents, god knows why people are panic buying that!

Awwww....love that picture! Hard to believe they look so sweet when sleeping when they're so bad when awake lol!

Yikes! That picture scares me...she's too brave! My boys were never that bad! I'll never want a girl if they're this bad lol!

We also used a cheapo toddler tunnel for Brodie when he was little. Set it up in our family room at night. He not only got worn out by it a bit but he also went into agility not afraid of the tunnel.

Haha...I forgot I had one of those for Piper! I guess I forgot about all the energy he had...after he got too big for the tunnel he used to love dragging it around the yard. I tried to find one for Finnie but by the time I did he'd gotten too big. Piper LOVED it!

I think she's gotten on the couch then the arm then jumped across. So pleased with herself too.

My boys never did these stunts either, but gosh Tully was a handful too, climbing and jumping (and a little willful). No wonder people prefer to run girls in agility.

I believe this too! When Brodie came, our Siamese would not come down from the top floor of the house and the litter boxes are in our basement. He would cry, cry, cry and I would go pick him up, run him to the basement. He was NOT happy with Brodie, Brodie knew it and any time he got a glimpse of Sam, he'd chase Sam - tons of hissing and awful Siamese meowing/complaining over everything. One day, Sam wasn't feeling too hot (we always feel he is on his last legs), and he sat and just stared at Brodie instead of running away. Brodie stopped bothering him and now goes over and licks his face and Sam tolerates it. Sam doesn't go to the upper floor any more at all, so stuff did sort out here.

I am sort of jealous with these Sheltie antics! Marty, Tully, Kismet, all creative little souls, big thinkers, I love the activity level and the results. We had to teach Brodie to jump on the couch! And other than chewing things he shouldn't, he doesn't have that devilish side to him - even in my kids, while the three of them drove me nuts at times, that's a favorite trait of them as kids. In our Rally and Agility classes, most dogs are females - and they truly run circles around my boy. Yes, most are older, but even the two who are his same birth month are so much more advanced and easier trained than he. Brodie has more of a stubborn streak with class, last night he performed even the advanced stuff we practiced like a trouper - best in class. But then some nights, he refuses to make eye contact and pretends he cannot hear me, stares out the window to avoid looking at me, when he is in 'that mood' he refuses to 'DOWN' - when he is not, he will follow my hand signal from across the room - go figure. I always read that boys love to please and girls are more independent - but in my experience, girls love to please themselves and that often includes pleasing their handler.
