Missing Sheltie in PA

Those were all great tips.

I know from where they found ruffles, it was near a dumpster where she was eating stuff that dropped before hitting the dumpster. It was a housing complex's dumpster. There was a big retention pond surrounded by a fence. She had a spot where she would go under the fence and stay in the area around the retention pond, then scavenge for food at night. This is exactly consistant with what you are saying.

Here is a picture of Foxie. Please feel free to cross-post the picture.

Here is an update from Carrie.

Poor Foxie.......let's get the word out so she is found! It is COLD outside

Hi Danielle,
After meeting with animal control for an hour and setting up the cameras, the officer was in the parking lot where we were and remembered he could pull up the video from the traffic stop to see the dog. Sure enough it caught the dog but it was not her but it was a sheltie I would say about 30 pounds. I am cross referencing on to see if there are any other missing shelties but I think I agree with the officer, she had a long coat that was not dirty or matted so most likely she is one of the neighbors and the dog has not been seen again. Now I am back to no sightings at all of Foxie again. Do you think this is unusual? I did place one of the cameras animal control lent us because I have to have peace of mind that she is not in a local pool/wooded area by me. I have posted and handed out flyers in the two local shopping centers but I am now feeling what I already know, she is good at hiding! Craig, the animal control officer said that she should be looking more towards people to feed her now that the weather is getting cold. He also said she will be looking for companionship if she does not already have it. Just at the same loss as 5 weeks ago with no leads and no sightings. I think I need some sleep today. I have had very few hours since Monday. Thanks for the postings!

I am in Monroe County, to your north, and I will be keeping my eyes and ears open for Foxie. My missing dog is Tristan, which is another thread in this section of the forum. I have seen your postings on Craigslist, and have wanted to reach out to you in support. I know exactly what you are going through. Hugs and hopes for our dogs.

Awe, I have seen the messages for Tristan also. I have 2 cameras out locally and still no luck. So many people have reached out to help but with no sighting, it is hard to know what to do. It is such a blessing having so many people wanting to help find Foxie. Interesting how many know of her missing through all kinds of cross postings/sources! Even my son who is on the quiet side had 5 people on Tuesday ask him if he found his dog at school. He was so touched! Must be that Christmas Spirit wanting him to find Foxie! I really have a lot of hope we will find both our shelties! My husband had a vet call about 2 weeks ago and say don't give up hope. She had a show dog sheltie patient who was missing for a year and was found safe. She said they can be very elusive as we know! I pray we both just have a sighting to know they are just safe. Keep me updated and I am available to help you if you have a sighting! Carrie
