Missing Sheltie in PA

Carrie- I'm new to the forum and did not know of your search for Foxie. I'm so sorry you haven't been able to find her yet, but as others have said, keep the faith! You both will be in my prayers. I live in Montgomery Co, but I do know some people in your area. I will get the word out to them too as well as keeping an eye out when I travel and around here. Also, does the micro chip have a service to get the word out? Even if they did when she first when missing, maybe they could do it again? The micro chip I got for Brandy at our vet was associated with Home Again Pet Rescuers. If an animal goes missing they send out email alerts to anyone who has signed up for it. Their email is: [email protected]. Wouldn't hurt to ask if they could get an alert out for you.

A bunch of years back we had several lost dogs that ended up in our yard and we were able to get them home! I wish and pray the same for Foxie.

It's good to hear from you Carrie, I just wish it was with better news

I am so sorry that you still have not found Foxie. I saw a post about her missing with our local Sheltie Rescue.

Thanks for the update. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

Danielle

For what it's worth, I don't believe dogs are nocturnal the way cats are. I would think they are much more likely to bed down at night. During the 20 days Kasey was on the run he was spotted a number of times at all times of the day. It was 1 PM when he was spotted on the day we caught him. Maybe you can go door to door in the area where he was last seen. Perhaps someone knows something but are reluctant to call.

Thanks for replies.

To Amy-If you read my posts, I live in Warrington, Bucks County, close to you I am sure. Animal control in Warminster said every spring they find lots of dogs along the power lines around Limekilm Pike b/c of the streams, the cemetery, golf course, parks and farms in that area. I am really concentrating on that area and Nike Park area around me off of Folly Road b/w County Line and Street Road. Call it intuition, but I keep getting a feeling she is back and forth in this area which cover 5 miles (and further if she headed over 309) BUT this is a big area! Also, my development has the same power lines running through it. It is so nice to hear of people who take the time to return lost dogs. I remember my parents rescueing all kinds of dogs (and other animals) in the 70's b/c of the economy. They always seem to end up around our house or maybe my parents were always willing to help a lost soul!

To Danielle, Tim, Monet & Malley's mom, thanks for the words. I really needed your prayers and replies to keep me positive!

I appreciate the other site suggestions. At this point she is listed on so many sites such as Petfinder.com under lost and adopt a sheltie. If someone has picked her up, sad to say but are not looking hard enough to return her.

I am not a great facebook person but there was a page setup called, Help Find Foxie The Sheltie. I am going to start using the site more. Please let anyone know if they like to join, it will at least be an easier way to make updates and spread the word if she is sighted.

In the mean time, my other rescue sheltie, Trixie, is keeping me busy! Wow, there are alot of shelties needing a home. I wish I had the time and the room for more! I still miss my first sheltie, Brandy who past away from cancer last June. She is the reason I rescued Foxie and Trixie!

Many thanks for this forum! God Bless and I will keep everyone updated!:biggrin2:

Hi Carrie- I've passed along these addtl details to those I know in Bucks. I'm about an hour away from you, but do sometimes travel up that way. My sister works pretty close and knows a bunch of animal lovers at her work that live near you. Maybe someone will finally get a sighting of her! Any info I get I'll immediately post here. I'm glad you have Trixie and hope you can rescue more in the future too. Sorry to hear about the loss of your Brandy last June.

Still keeping the faith with you!!!!! Maybe Brandy can talk some sense into Foxie from the Rainbow Bridge!

Saying Hello

Hello everyone,
Hope everyone is safe after the hurricane. I cannot stop thinking about my Foxie since Irene hit. The lost sheltie in NJ also named Foxie has me a little mellow today. I pray the NJ Foxie is safe. I keep thinking my Foxie is out there on her own and Irene would help flush her out of hiding! Not one sighting though. My mom is so positive she will show up in a shelter, you will see she says. Still not sure how anyone can miss the signs, listings etc. if someone were looking for her owner. She did have her ID on her collar when she ran off in November since she broke the lease only and is microchipped. I guess there should be a song called "Where do all the lost dogs go!"

I know many of you have been checking this site when a sheltie is found. Please continue to share. So many things I have learned I would do differently on that day/week but I can only look forward for that call for now.

Here is my positive spin on things, my other rescue sheltie just turned 1 and she is a sweetie. She can use a friend so I am sure she will have no problem with Foxie finding her way back home. I also look at the lay of the land differently and have spotted all kinds of animals from deer, fox, cats, etc. I also stopped to help what I thought was a lost dog back home.

Just wanted to post a little something. Love the sheltie photos that come up on facebook every day. Shelties are the best!:biggrin2: Carrie
