How’s Lacey doing today Ann? Is she feeling any better?

She's had a day on antibiotics and gabapentin but no change. I talked to my vet today and he said she might have an abscess. The good news is they're going to figure out a way to get her in for the dental before Oct. 25. At this point I'll drop anything and go. I feel so bad for her. At least she's still eating though, nothing keeps a Sheltie from their food!

Aww that’s too bad! Well if it is an abscess the antibiotics should help and then the dental will hopefully take care of whatever is bothering her. I really hope they can get her in before October 25th! That’s almost 4 weeks away!

Just heard from my vet. He is going to make time to do Lacey's dental personally this Friday! What a relief. I hate seeing her so uncomfortable. We are so lucky with our vet practice!

Fabulous news Ann! Hope she gets relief from the dental. You are lucky to have such a responsive vet office. Mine is the same, thankfully.

That’s wonderful news Ann! Poor girl…I know how uncomfortable it is having a toothache, the sooner she gets in the better! That’s great of your vet to make the time for her!

That's wonderful news Ann. I wish my Vet was so accommodating.I called the emergency line to have Teddy seen today and the best they offered was time in the afternoon tomorrow.

Poor Lacey, thank God he can do her this week! Hopefully the pain meds and antib's will help some in the meantime!

Teddy has a lump on his right side lower abdomen close to his rear leg and in the center there is scab over an indentation I am hopeful that it's just pus filled but I found out that Monday there was another small dog that might have got him after talking. to my wife who was walking him at the time. I found it early this morning while he was getting brushed. He is not paying any attention to it so I don't know.
I guess my beef is I have use this Vet for 24 years have used the emergency number 3 times in that time and they offered me tomorrow or the directions to the ER which is 65 to 70 miles away.
