we made it!
Well, glad to say we made it
Got Internet today, survived two weeks on my new job and loving it so far.
It's been COLD, first time ever that I am considering getting booties for the boys, it is that cold, lol First few days we had the icestorm, etc
During the second trip coming back, they closed the highway due to flash freezing, and we were stuck on it for a an hour, but it was ok
The boys love the new digs, as do I... we have found a couple of places we sneak a few offleash runs in and catch the Frisbee, those spots will have to be reassessed again when it gets nicer out, and then there will be people...
Went to a freestyle (dancing with your dog) seminar and LOVED it, because I haven't found a satisfactory agility trainer yet, but wanted to get to meet a few more dog people, so that was great
Spruce was very good, actually I was impressed with his focus on me and his willingness to work in that environment.
I brought in Toffee after it was over, not before, that would have been a bit much on him all the new stimuli... But when we went he was thinking it is a agility venue, lol, nearly took my arm off trying to get there, but I just wanted him to check it out and let him play with me there and do a few tricks and chase the ball, etc etc, so we can maybe attend another time. They rent the space out for agility too, so I may do that.
Only thing is has crazy waxed laminate flooring, a ramp and big stairs to have to take before you get to the area where there's the dog training area... Toffee doesn't like these types of building at all at the stairs.. he slipped his collar unexpectedly in a split second... but I calmly called him and he went okies then, let's go down those then... and of course I pez dispensed rewards for being such a good boy and to show it actually wasn't anything scary. So, never know may look at some freestyle fun, always stuff to work on, lol
The moving trip was a lot of meowing initially what with movers and leaving both cats in the car for quite some time... so much rain and snow and ice, it was a lil stressful. Then when I was stopping for gas and coffee what with the barking and meowing, because everyone was getting a little worried why it was taking so long...
However, cats and dogs did sleep and Whiskey (fluffy orange big boy) liked being up front with me where I could feed him the occasional treat, he curled up and fell asleep.
So all in all it went really well, and we're looking forward to see what else life brings
