Need Prayers Please

We "All" are praying very hard with our paws together to St. Francis, and our God that little Zoey will be be made well.
We are so sorry that she is so sick and looking forward to hearing that she is on the mend very soon.
God bless to everyone
Lots of Sheltie luv
William, Morgan, Patrick Sophie, and our angel Bonnie at the Bridge. and of course of pawparents.

oh no Shaun...I have your little Zoe in my prayers. These tiny little shelties seem to get the things that hit them so hard. I will keep her close in my heart along with you, that the dieuresis will help her. Our little Shanny has chronic kidney issues and she has been going strong with a diet change (Halo food) and monitoring. I hope it is will be the same for littlest Zoe

Hi everyone! Thank you for all of the prayers and thoughts! Zoe went and stayed at the vet's office for about 3 hours this morning and they gave her fluids and observed her while she was there. She seemed a little perkier when she got home but then went back to laying on the couch and sleeping. They sent me home with a bag of IV fluid and several needles and told me how to give her fluids through tomorrow night if she needs them. Well about 8 tonight I hooked her up to the IV and messed it up. I pinched the skin like they told me but I must have had the end of the needle come out where I couldn't see it - fluid was leaking everywhere. Back to square 1! I tried again and got it to work the second time. Poor girl, I felt terrible for sticking her with the needle. Once she got the amount in her system that she needed, I took her out for a potty break and brought her back in and asked her if she wanted treats - boy did that perk her ears up! She gobbled up a bunch of little treats so then I got out some boiled chicken to see if she would eat that. She ate that right up too! Let's hope that this is a good sign and that I don't have to do the IV tomorrow! I have to take her back in on Friday so the can check her out, give her more fluids if she is not eating or just pull out the IV cathider that is in her leg. She looks so pathetic! They have her leg all wrapped up and she can't move it. I can't let her jump on or off of the furniture or go up and down the steps. She is getting the royal treatment around here! So anyway, things seem to be heading in the right direction for now. Thanks everyone! Big wags and licks from Zoe!!

Lauri - what flavor are you feeding Shanny? Are you doing just dry or canned or both? I found their website and found some stores near where I work and I think I will call to see if they have samples of it. She has really been being very picky lately and won't really eat much of anything so I don't want to buy a big bag and have her not eat it. Thanks!

Thanks for the update Shaun !

I hope she keeps doing better everyday ! Prayers remain with you and little Miss Zoe. Hope you have good news Friday when you bring her in to the vet.:wink2:

I'm still sending prayers to St. Francis for Zoe, Shaun. Glad things are better today. I hope they continue to improve. I'd be interested in the Halo information as well...Pixie has limited kinds of food she can eat because of her kidney values.

Please keep us posted on Zoe. We are sending good thoughts, pats and hugs to you!!

Thanks everyone! Well, I wish I had better news but Zoe is still not doing very well. My husband and I have a difficult decission to make and we need to make it soon. I still have to give her sub-q fluids at least once a day. She won't drink water but will eat ice cubes. She won't eat anything but boiled chicken and then she will only eat it if I have it on my hand. I can't keep her like this - it's just not fair to her. I'm so not ready to deal with this and as I type, the tears are flowing. Thank you again for all of your thoughts and prayers. Zoe knows that she is very loved by everyone!
