Poor boy just took a potty break and his stool was totally liquid!

The tech at the vet office told me the antibiotics may cause diarrhea.

Any ideas how to combat this new problem?

He has to be on these meds for two weeks!! HELP!!

Glad to hear everything went ok for Chance and no extractions. It is always such a worry when they have to have an anaesthetic. Love the photos of the Frosty Paws ice cream going down well.

With regards the antibiotics, the loose stools could just be the effects of the anaesthetic and once that has cleared the system everything might be fine. If it is the antibiotics though I imagine the vet may be able to prescribe an alternative or possibly something like Pro Kolin could help for the duration of the treatment. I think (my) Merlin was in the same situation and this is what our vet did.

Gland to hear that Mr. Chance is doing better. He is one handsome senior citizen! Does not look his age at all! Try adding some digestive enzymes. Antibiotics are indiscriminate and will kill the good bacteria too.

Thinking the same thing about the pumpkin. Also, cook up some rice and mix into the food, that helps bind the stool.

Probiotics. I use the Dr. Mercola's Healthy Pets Digestive Enzymes. There are other really good brands, I'm sure someone else will chime in. I'd always give a probiotic when they have to take antibiotics just to keep the gut flora populated with the good guys. And I agree with the canned pumpkin. It works really well.
Chance looks AMAZING for 13. I never would have guessed his age.
