New med for anxiety/ stress

Aggression meds

So how much Latium do you give your dog? My dog definitely has aggression problems. My vet wanted to put him on Prozac when he was a puppy but I said no . No I,m thinking maybe I should have. She said it was too late now, he just turned two. I tried lithium , calming aids , .HE is very aggressive toward other dogs ,people coming into the house, I, at wits end.

FYI, not to hijack the thread, however I tried L-Theanine and it worked quite well. However pretty expensive when buying by the bottle.

Found a site on a body-building website, liftmode.com which sells bulk.

200g (7.5 oz, 200,000mg) $23

They also sell Picamilon, which is a GABA/Niacinamide analogue molecule which is the only type of GABA which will cross the blood-brain barrier. A number of people with Social Anxiety use this instead of benzos like xanax, etc.
Very cheap, and might be worth a try if you have a companion (furry or not) who needs a little help.

It isn't too late, I've known dogs that have gone on fluoxetine in their old
age. I must say every dog that I've known that has used it has made a remarkable change - keep in mind though you do need to untrain some of the behaviours once you start on the meds. Honestly, if you are finding it that stressful try the medication. I think you'll find a couple of threads on this forum of people that have used fluoxetine/Prozac.

Have you considered a supplement called Head to Tail. It has L-Theanine in it along with another more homeopathic ingredients.

I've been selling it my store for about six months with really good feedback.

Also consider a Thundershirt. I've seen my crazy barking dog over thunderstorms just lay right down.

Just some other options than $80 per month meds.

Maybe these methods were already discussed and discarded in another thread. Sorry if I repeat.
