Nor to me! Not that I'm an expert. I think Duncan is medium sized. He is almost 3.75 lbs at just over 8 weeks. Your pup may be on the small side, but if the vet hasn't noticed anything odd, I wouldn't be worried.

Your Bailey is exactly the same size as my Fergus was at that age. He is now 2 years and is 13 inches tall and weighs 17#. He is on the small end of sheltie size but is not extremely tiny. So far he has been very healthy. When they talk about health issues in small shelties they are talking about extremely undersized shelties. There are some that weigh 8#-10# when fully grown. Their inner organs heart, liver, lungs are usually normal size and their bone structure is very small. The body cavity is much too small for the size of the organs and it creates all kinds of health issues.

Hi there! I'm fairly new to the forums as well. I just got my own sheltie puppy just last week. Her name is Daphne. It'll be fun to see our girls grow up together. :)

Welcome to the forum. You have a very lovely puppy. Aren't they just adorable at that age? Aonghus is almost 10 months old now and sometimes I really miss the cute fuzzy puppy that he was when I got him. Btw, am I the only person who still uses a small strip of duct tape rolled into a small cylinder and taped to the ear to train it? We did this (30+) years ago when I had my first shelties and it has worked fairly well with 'Gus. His ears aren't perfect, but he gets a very nice expression.

Well there are two products that I just adore around the house for multi purpose use: Duct Tupe and WD-40!

If duct tape worked for you, than I'm all ears to hear more (definite pun intended).

But duct tape does leave a residue....what did you use to remove that\/
