New Sheltie owner

Energy level=thru the roof!!! Only time she is still is when she is asleep!
I have found that the best time to work with her is right after a nap, when she is semi calm. Always alerting on something, Outside she goes from bird,to leaf, to butterfly, to shadow, to airplane, never slows down!!
BUT,,she is a joy!!! Keeps us laughing all the time!!!

It takes between 2 - 3 years for the full Sheltie coat to come in, depending on the line of dogs. My Meadow's coat is very sparse right now because of her spay at 11 months and her blowing the puppy coat. Unfortunately the link to your photo did not work for me either. Dixie sounds like an active girl who might eventually enjoy some type of dog sport, obedience, rally, agility, Nosework.

A big welcome from upstate NY. I am so sorry for the loss of your Collie girl, Daisy, but hope that many years of precious memories will gradually ease the pain of loss. Your wee Dixie will keep you too busy for much else!! She sounds like a typical full of energy, smart Sheltie. Sheltie pups often go through that leggy, little coat stage but gradually fill out and have beautiful coats...just takes time. Glad to have you aboard and we look forward to many funny, happy Dixie stories.
