New to Sheltie Board and Sheltie Dog

Sheldon sounds wonderful. I am a new sheltie owner and I feel so blessed and that he was meant to end up here, were such a perfect match in so many ways. It is a joy and I hate not being with him for any period of time. He is my best little buddy and my constant companion. I am so happy for you.
 
Welcome !! I have to agree with you about shelties having a sweet spirit. They just seem to look right into your heart. Looking forward to many stories and pictures about you new little cutie.

Yes, they are playful and sweet, when I went to the shelter and was looking for a dog to adopt, I can tell you that my Beau would not go up to anyone. I came up to his cage, he walked over and he let me take him for a walk and when I brought him back he put his little paw in my hand and looked straight up at me. Before I knew it I said," Bodacious, your not staying here anymore, your coming home with your mamma"(Mind you, I had a note in my pocket telling me to specifically not bring a dog home" Sometimes you just go with your gut, I have had Beau now for five years, if I had to choose again, I'd pick him every day of the week and three times on Sunday. This boy could school George Clooney on how to work a room, or a very least, how to work a room filled with women, at least I'm not the jealous type.:lol:

Welcome, what a wonderful story, although I feel bad for Sheldon that he was alone with his deceased owner.... that must be traumatic for any dog let alone a sensitive Sheltie.

They are fabulous dogs and I wouldn't be without two! We have two 11 year old girls, Asta and Ally. They are Aunt and Niece. They've been the most wonderful companions.

There's lots to learn on this forum!
 
Welcome to the board, Nancy. Shelties are definitely a wonderful breed of dog. Passionate, calm and smart. Very happy to hear Sheldon have found a good home.

Well... I don't know about calm. But definitely passionate and smart! Not to mention the most loyal dog breed I've ever seen!:biggrin2:
