newbie griefing

Thinking of you at this difficult time.

We lost out Mac after 14 1/2 years at the beginning of December last. It was a very sad time, we lost his sister a few years earlier. They were such a big part of the family, they went everywhere with us. It is very difficult when you have to let go.

It will get easier, we often remind ourselves of our two and all the things they got up to. We can do this now without getting all upset again. We are in the process of scanning in some photographs to make up a photobook.

I know it is very difficult and not everyone understands, I think you have come to the right place though.

You have certainly come to right place for caring and support. Many of us here have either recently or not so recently lost their loved ones. (I lost mine last spring).

It doesn't really matter though, how long ago. We carry their memories forever in our hearts. I still go past pictures and feel my stomach clench and my eyes tear.

May God and St. Francis grant you peace and be with you and your boy at this difficult time in your life. I, too, have lost shelties and I think it has been one of the hardest things I have gone through. Wish I could give you a big hug.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of your beloved boy. My family lost one of our girls in January. The memorial page will be wonderful and will help you remember all of the wonderful times with your boy. It will get easier with time and your tears will be smiles when you look back at all the wonderful, silly things your boy did. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you!

Thank you everybody for all the kind words, I am sorry for your loss also. It's a very trying time for me and the kitty, MiMi, she has finally stopped asking me where her baby brother is. I went and picked up his ashes today, together with the little clay paw print, which I baked it the oven right after I got home. it was really hard to go and pick him up in a little jar. but at least he is home with us now. His name was SingSing, it means Little Star in Cantonese. He was very well loved, and everybody said he was a lucky boy to be my boy, but i said it was me who was lucky to have him to love me unconditionally like that. He had to keep me in sight even when we were home at my parents for dinner. He stopped walking on hardwood floors for years, I put rugs on my parent's place for him to go from the living room to the kitchen for dinner, so he sat at the kitchen door (thats where the rugs ended) and watched me if i had to go to the other rooms to do stuff. he was such a sweet baby.

I have been preparing the order form to have the hair I have saved for the past two years to be spun and then I can have that knitted and be able to hug him and have him sleep in the same bed with us again. I still remember the days when he was able to jump up to bed with me and MiMi, one on either side of me and I dare not move all night because I didn't want to wake either of them up. I love my furbabies, and I am so worried that his sister might leave me also, i have to scold her the other day because she slept in another spot on the bed under the covers and i couldnt see her! I am being so paranoid now! :(

your girls are gorgeous!

I am sorry for your loss and feel your grief, it is never easy for those of us who love our fur kids.

We have lost too many fur kids over the years and lost our new girl, Trinket, Feb. 3 after only having her in our lives for 4 months. I have a gallery of our girls on my pbase site which helps and photo's of them around the house.

Our latest loss was devestating as Trinkie was so young and with us for such a short time but she made an indelible foot print in our lives and we are still grieving for her.

Some of Our Girl's photo's are on my pbase site at the following link and I know they would appreciate you stopping by for a look.

Terry, your girls were beautiful! i am so very very sorry for your lost! time does not heal the pain of losing a furbaby! My little SingSing was the second dog that went to doggie heaven after I am an adult, I still grief the passing of my first dog, I had her for 17 years. SingSing was the first Sheltie and I m going to find another one to adopt me, hopefully from his old breeder. maybe the new baby would be related to my baby.

what happened to Trinkie? How come she had such a short life? that is really devastating! I feel your pain!

Oh, Danna, what a beautiful boy your Sing Sing is! He is there is your heart and in those lovely images. Of course you're not paranoid -- you've lost your dear one, and thank heavens you still have his big sister to comfort you. The pain will fade, leaving you grateful to have known your Sheltie Angel.
