It all started last Thursday. I picked up a 10 year old sheltie. Then Friday I picked up two 18 month old shelties (male and female litter mates). Saturday I had two more shelties delivered to me (male litter mates). So that's five added to my already ten dogs in residence....
Then it hit the fan.... My friend Gwen had some medical issues and called me for help. I went over to her house to see what I could do to help her and she said she wanted to go to the walk in clinic here in Lakeland. Once she was in the car I asked her what was going on. She told me her left arm and left shoulder was numb and her jaw was aching! HIT THE GAS!!! we went right to the emergency at the hospital (against her wishes) She was admitted for observation and for a stress test. She was in the throes of a heart attack and didn't know it. Her right anterior artery was 99% blocked so they did a stint which required another over night stay. She has a dog, an aussie so I went to her house and picked up the dog and added her to my swelling minagerie. So from Saturday to Monday evening I am caring for sixteen dogs as well as running back and forth to the hospital for Gwen...
I was glad I could help her in her time of need, she is a single woman with no family in Florida. But gee whiz!
As of today two shelties have gone on to a new foster home and one was adopted and the Aussie went home to her mamma. So
now I'm down down to eleven which is three more than I started with but this seems like a vacation from over the weekend.
I'll try to post more often than I do but it is really hard to find time to do everything and still keep up the house, my dog training and church work.
Hugs to all of you
