Okay, here's what we feed...

As we are zipping along with replys, nobody commented on the food I feed!
I'm bummed...I was having so much fun. (this is from the showing thread)

So, I guess I'll fess up. We feed Eukanuba small breed puppy, and then they move to Eukanuba Active Performance, then on to the senior formula in later years. With the winning we have done with our dogs, and now these two pups, it is a testament that there are quality dog food companies. The coat condition, the muscle tone, and the over all health of our dogs at any age, is proof. And the secret ingredient...FRESH AIR. Our dogs are outside all day, unless it is raining. All the runs have shelter and bedding. No supplement can give you what fresh air can. It increases appetite, counteracts any stress, and when they come in the house, they truly rest. Condition of a showdog is paramount, and your companion dogs can look like our show dogs. It's not a secret!
 
Eukanuba small breed puppy is what my breeder uses for her puppies as well. That is what Dandie is currently on.
 
Thanks Jennygirl, I know I asked the question but am just now getting back to the forum. Your dogs sure do look great that is for sure.
 
:biggrin2: I thought I had remembered you saying something about it before.

I was feeding Smudge TOTW, and I can honestly say 100% truthful (you can ask Lightplum) that I've said before that Smudge's coat has went to crap since he has been on it. Fluffy is on Eukanuba, and her coat is great. :yes:

Something for me to think about...
 
Must admit my two have gone to crap a bit since I put them back on commercial food only - Deska got fat and Tully got dander and a dry coat. And the commercial food I give is the top end stuff here (Eagle Pack, Nutro Natural and Advance Dental). So now they still get kibble for breakfast but I am back to cooking meals myself - and they always get human grade low fat meat - chicken and kangaroo mainly. I do wonder if their bodies get used to drawing nutrients in a particular way so are better on the foods they are used to (like m home cooking).

Little OT but I had the kitten on Eukanuba for a while and her poo stank. Now she is on Royal Canin the laundry doesnt smell as bad!

I've never taken a whiff so I can't say. :wink2:

I'm still thinking about my dog food options. It's so terrible to go from people bragging on Smudge's coat to have it turn like this. It feels like straw. :dead:

It could be his age. I think I have already mentioned this, but Deska's coat went really wild around 12mths of age and Rough Collie breeders told me that was perfectly normal for a dog's coat to go this way at this age. their coat is growing rapidly so it gets a little dry and crazy - I guess its the reverse of the greasy human teenager look.

Deska went from lovely and soft to frizzy and dry within a few months. So expect Smudge to get really fluffy

:smile2: We feed our puppies Eukanuba puppy Growth. We tried weaning the puppers to a premium puppy food with our first litter of pups, and all we got was puking diarrhea pups. The Eukanuba puppy food is a great transition food, very well tolerated.

That is soooo funny!!! I using the Vibrant Pets on Beckon may mean no dried out growth-spurt coat! So far, he's lovely!
