I'll have to check when I get home, but this book has a bunch of recipes for dogs with health conditions.

If there are recipes for liver conditions, I can try and photo copy a few recipes and email it to you.
Trust me I barely cook for myself, so I understand your hesitation, but with a dog, you can make food for like a month and just freeze them. So it will only be one day a month of really cooking. And it's so easy to warm frozen veggies, bake or boil some chicken and steak. It's not like real cooking with spices and marinades. You just need to make sure the protein is the right level for his liver condition.
I also couldn't find any commercial food that had very low protein except for the prescription foods. I remember when Bailey had stomach issues, she had to be put on a prescription diet. It had a lot of questionable ingredients, but it really was the only food that worked for her. I had no choice. Thankfully, she grew out of it and now eats better quality food. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Maybe if you feel cooking is too overwhelming, you can alternate with the prescription kibble and some cooked food, so you get a break?
Just throwing some ideas out there for you. Bacca is in good hands with you. I know you'll do everything you can within your means to make sure Bacca remains comfortable.
