sounds like doxycycline- pretty standard for kennel cough.Lucky gets all vet recommended shots including the Bordatella potion which judging by the numerous times poor Lucky, and other Shelties we've had catch the Kennel Cough doesn't seem to help. Nevertheless we follow the rules, and cross our fingers the day we go pickup our dog at the kennel that all went well and he is healthy. Sometimes he is and other time he has the cough.
Vet put him on two things...one is doxy something and the other is Benadryl. He should be ok and in fact other than the cough he seem fine. But I come from a long line of rule followers, and so Lucky will be on the schedule the Vet prescribed. But as I mentioned before we have decided to abandon the kennel boarding, and will pursue other caregiver in the future. Thanks everyone.

the problem with the Bordetella vaccine is that there are many strains much like the flu so if your dog is exposed to a strain that wasn't in the vaccine, they will likely develop symptoms..........
