Pedi-paws??

It broke ....

My Pedi-Paws just stopped running after about a year and half. I tried to determine whether it could be serviced, but I was unsuccessful on this. Apparently lots of folks have had a similar issue. So in retrospect, this was money down the drain for me.

Pedi paws

I've used it and it works great. Good deal for 10 bucks. The only drawback is it's a bit weak but that's a good thing from a safety perspective (I wouldn't clip his nails myself as I'm afraid I'd go too high). Sandy freaked a bit the first time I used it but now it doesn't faze him at all.

I used a Pedi-cure for awhile before I upgraded to a real dremel.

Don't waste your money on the Pedicure or Pedipaws. The thing about having "guards" to protect pulling hair is pure hype. Just trim the feet first.

Both tools are underpowered and ackward to use.

I rely on my Dremel Stylus 1100. Best purchase I ever made. About $100

It is very compact, battery operated (and with a long battery life) and because of its unique design, allows you to hold the tool in different positions (even upside down) to get at the nails.

I tried a Pedi-Paws and put it away after about 3 months. It is very under powered and it eats batteries. Its also awkward to hold and manipulate.

I started using the same Dremel Barb mentions above. It provides better speed control and fits much better in my hand.

I used the Pedicure too and found it worked OK once I took the guard off. But I eventually upgraded to Barb's dremmel too. Once I got used to using it I loved it! It does a great job and you don't have to worry about nicking them like you do with clippers.

It does take some practice though, and having your pups in the right position. I found that was key. Missjennygirl showed me how to flip them on their backs and brace them between my legs and now they hold perfectly still for me.

Oh, yes! The leg lock is key! My dogs don't struggle with it anymore! But it does make sure they don't shift around while I'm trimming.

I guess that's why I love my new floor model, lazy susan grooming table so much - because I can do the wrestle position with them, and turn them as I go.

the puppertonic position- it's awesome :smile2: I did learn about that here and Callie does well that way.
Cran and Dixie aren't quite in the trance state yet when I try it with them

My biggest problem is grabbing the dog, then managing to sit down on the floor with squirming pooch still in hand. Once I'm there, if I haven't lost the dog, it's pretty easy now to settle them in position. They really do get used to it. Getting there though can be interesting...Checkers grows about 10 paws to climb my shoulder on the way! :rolleyes2:
