Peticure

Me again....

For those that bought the Peticure....did you buy Peticure Elite or Peticure Professional?

The difference is not clear - except for voltage - I don't think my dog care's about that :wink2:

And also - how many additional filing bands should be ordered do you think?

Elite is selling for $49.99 with 3 extra bands. Professional at $59.99 with 20 bands....why would I not buy the professional?

Takes Too Long to Come!

Barb...I ordered the Elite, which I think is what most people have. I'm so cheesed though....it's been well over a month and they charged my account 10 days ago and it still hasn't landed! I am dying here....their nails are cutting me to ribbons....stay tuned :lol:
 
I ordered the professional - actually got it in 3 weeks- :eek2: still getting the pups used to the sound before actual touches. :smile2:

If you don't want to spend a lot of money just use your husband's dremel (I assume all men have at least one), the grinding disks are very inexpensive $5.00 for 10) and it exactly the same thing as the peticure tool, minus the attachement that holds the mess. My husband's dremel works great :smile2:

I bought the Furminator....it's great! My pup doesn't really need it yet, because his undercoat is still growing in, but I wanted him to be used to being groomed early on.

With the regular slicker, pin brush, comb routine, I could never get him to sit still. He LOVES the Furminator! A sure sign that he is in ecstasy is that he rolls over onto his back while I'm brushing him! Now the hard part is to get him back onto his stomach or side so that I can get at the fur that needs doing! :lol:
 
Peticure Report

My Peticure finally landed last week. I had my doubts originally, after seeing the video that showed how you acclimate the dogs to it. Mine are very treat oriented but also very opinionated about what they'll let touch their precious paws. To my surprise though, after a few days of working with them as the video suggested, I've been able to get a few nails done! I love the guard--makes it so much easier to hone in on what you're doing. And being able to select the opening is great too. So far, I'd give it an A+ :biggrin2: Definitely worth the time and money. :yes:
 
I ordered my Peticure! Sure hope I don't have to wait as long as you did! Keep me posted as to how it works for you.

Chewbacca (Bacca for short) has decided that nail clipping is not in his best interest. So it now requires him to be very sleepy and another person, even then, to help keep him in position.

I'd been using baby safety scissors to trim around his pads, but love the idea of a shaver. I think that will be my next purchase.....LOL! My pup will soon have more grooming materials than I do!
 
So far, so good, Barb. I found that they seem most comfortable if I put them on the couch laying across my lap. They tend to relax then, although the noise backs them off a bit but the treats make a *big* difference! By the second paw my little guy was nearly sleeping. I think you'll love it. Now I am thinking about the Furminator. Oh, and that grooming tools thing? Forget it...I had to upgrade to a bucket for all the stuff. They have WAY more than me!:eek2:
 
Well, my Peticure arrived today! Yey! Just over 2 weeks!

But the model they sent me appeared to be used (scratches on the guard), the tool didn't match the pictures (looked like an older model) and it was missing a key part (the one that allows you to screw the guard onto the drum)!

Very disappointed. I've emailed them...don't know how long I'll have to wait for a response. In the meantime....Bacca desperate for nail clipping. I managed 2 paws earlier this week. Psyching myself up to finish the next 2! :rolleyes2:
 
That's dreadful, Barb! They should certainly replace that unit. I found they are slow responding to email too, just so you know. It took a day or two for me to get replies from them. I think you'll find it's worth waiting for though. :smile2:

My Furminator came yesterday and it's good but I didn't get alot of fur out. Of course I'd just groomed them and done a thorough shedding with my rake over the weekend. Also after reading all the warnings about being careful and not burning the skin I was pretty tentative. I think it will be a great addition to my rapidly growing grooming arsenal!
