Pico's Neuter

Wow Cindy and Pico that is one big scar, no wonder he was fussing over it...looks good at this point. Poor guy. It's funny, when my dogs get something like that it makes me feel better to sit them down and explain what happened to them....yeah I know, did I fall on my head or what? Still they look at me like they understand and that makes me feel better. Poor guy. Love the carrier ride, he might just get spoiled an decide this is the way all his walk/rides should be.....and well, maybe they should???
 
the stroller gets donated in february to a dog wheelchair rescue. I wasn't able to connect with them before Christmas.
Pico is lucky it's still here...I won't keep it for 'just in case' when someone else can get real use out of it.
and it is super big for pico.

but it is handy for now :)
 
baby boy is growing up...
he got his first poop chute this morning!

(I think I gave him too many treats yesterday....)

incisions look good and he is definitely been a lot perkier since probably Monday.
Pico sits for his little suit (it's so cute, I bring it out and he sits down so I can put it on. he is very patient as I've put it on backwards a few times)
He even sits for his cone and wriggles his head in for me, probably because he gets fed when I leave but still.
Not too much barking yet (which is good) although he has howled once or twice.
 
SO I was feeding Pico with the webcam teat dispenser when his cone fell off!
It just slid right off his head. I know shelties have a head smaller than their neck and can back out of a collar, but this was just...gravity?
So I drove back home, put it back on and slid the cone collar under his regular collar (I use a martingale with a clasp for his cone).
he was soo happy to see me :) he was happily sleeping as soon as I left.
 
So by Thursday he was as spunky as ever. Poor guy just wants to play.
Since we still are on limited walks, we play ring around the rosie (Me).
I sit on the floor and Pico (while holding a toy in his mouth) does circles around me while chasing another toy.
he is mostly at prancing speed.
He is jumping on the furniture now when I don't catch him, but the couch isn't that high so I think we are OK since it's pretty limited.

stitches look good. some of the scabs have already fallen off.
that tummy incision.....OMG....there is a stitch on the underside of his little penis. I can't even imagine how painful that must have been and still is!
