Piper news?

I hope that Sanderbeck is held responsible for all of the legal fees and court costs. Pictures of Piper have been posted on FB that show how badly she was cared for during this ordeal. Her feet are really bad and it does not look like her nails had been trimmed in ages. She has fleas and mites too. Poor baby. No dog deserves to be neglected like that.

Penny should be kept FAR away from any dog...those pictures are atrocious!

I agree that the pictures are awful. Looks like a hack job on her poor little feet. Other side is trying to say that she looked worse than that when she was brought in - and that the 'damage' like that takes longer than a year.

I read something on the other side that said something along the lines that someone who finds your dog can change the registration information on the chip? Is that true? They were insinuating that the finder could be considered the owner, if going by the precedent that a chip shows ownership.

And I don't see anything wrong with giving a breeder the right of first refusal. They bred that dog. That is reaponsuble breeding to me. They make it out to seem like that is the worst thing - ever What is wrong to me, are certain rescues. Like my parents tried to adopt a cat but they never gave 'ownership' to the adoptees. A waiver was signed saying the rescue would retain ownership and it would come back to them for any reason they deemed fit. They were allowed to show up, unnannounced, at any point and could take it back with them if they wanted. Why is that OK, but a responsible breeder should not be able to have right of first refusal?

Simple, concise, and direct...

Judge Brandt ruled that Piper had been withheld from her owners long enough.:gaah

FINALLY, Some COMMON SENSE!

Thank you Judge Brandt!

Wow just saw this yesterday and went through it. This is one of the most heartbreaking and absurd things I've seen/read. I'm so happy that Piper is finally reunited with her family but just can not believe everything that had to happen for it to turn out so. I certainly hope She is reimbursed for all that she spent and had to go through, nothing will make it right though.

As a pet owner in the past and soon to be again this is terrifying disheartening and leaves me with a loss of words to fully express how this makes me feel. What is the point of microchips if the correct protocol isn't even going to be followed but of course I will still microchip my animals and I guess I will just have to hope that if anything happens then correct procedures are followed, I find it sad that I have to hope for this though.

Why would someone do such a thing ugh I just can't. Did they ever get the vet check? What did it say? I may have missed it. I'm so happy piper is reunited with her family though, thank goodness.
