Prayers for Logan please...

The Dr just called.
He is reluctant to send Logan home and may just keep him until Saturday as his numbers are still so high and he needs the fluids to compensate for his compromised kidney function. He is very pleased that he ate last night and again this morning. He sent the blood work out and got the BUN number at 170 and the PHOS over 16. Now we have baseline numbers. He did keep his catheter in overnight.
Still numb...

Terribly sorry to hear this he looks like an absolute sweet heart. Hope things turn better for y'all and he gets some quality time back.
 
I keep checking back to see how your visit goes.....I know how badly you miss him and want him home happy and healthy!

I just spoke to the doctor. Great News to report!
He is eating and drinking. His values are significantly better!
After 2 bags of fluids and antibiotics!

BUN:
Yesterday 171
Today 54 (normal range 7-27) (over a 100 pt drop!)

PHOS:
Yesterday 16.2
Today 6.6 (normal range 3.3-6.8)

CREATININE:
Yesterday 2.2
Today 1.3 (normal range 0.4-1.4)


Stage I (pre-failure):
Creatinine levels at this stage are generally
less than 1.4 mg/dL (125 umol/l)

Stage 2 (mild failure):
Creatinine levels are
between 1.4 and 2.0 mg/dL (125-180 umol/l)
The dog may or may not be showing signs of illness

This is just miraculous in my eyes! Your positive thoughts and prayers with my great vet and staff saved Logan's life!
I can take him home tomorrow! I am over the MOON HAPPY!!!!

That is AWESOME news! If you can keep him at or near those levels, he has a very good chance at a long happy life. The Phosphorus level is an important one. Try to keep it as low as possible. Most of the recipes you will see are geared toward low Phosphorus. As you and Logan go on this journey, you will become a food expert. Got to keep him eating!
 
I am SOOOO Happy for you! Logan looks so glad to see you :) Our Seniors are so precious, and you SAVED his life by getting him to the vet asap.
Logan is beyond lucky to have you as a Mom!
