I am cautiously optimistic that all the prayers and good wishes may be starting to work! Although we still have a long ways to go for my little Pixie Girl to be back to normal, she is showing the first signs of improving. Yesterday and again today she got up on her own in the morning and walked outside on her own without my having to carry her. Although she doesn't yet respond to the yard's wildlife with her usual race to hunt/catch them, she is at least taking an interest by watching them. Small improvements, but very encouraging. Our vet has extended her Baytril for another 3 weeks and then we evaluate whether or not we are "home free" from whatever infection was behind her decline. At least we can pretty much rule out kidney failure at this point...which is a huge relief!! Pixie just turned 8 years old in June...still a young one.
Thank-you so much to everyone for your encouragement and caring...it has meant a lot during a tough time.
Excellent news. Reading your post was such a great way to start my morning.
Thanks so much for your current update.
ps Will continue to keep both of you in my prayers. Please give your little Pixie a hug from me. And our Mr. Mally sends out a big WOOF WOOF WOOF for Pixe to get well soon!
