Prayers for Pixie Please

I really hope that this was just a one-off thing, and that she will be back to herself soon. I understand that the after-effects (soreness, stiffness, just feeling crummy) can be hard on humans, and I imagine it's the same for dogs, especially older ones.

I think you may be right, Megan. This is the first morning since the seizure that she seemed more herself, although still somewhat fragile. I forget that when she had them previously she was much younger. It probably does take longer now to come back from something like that.

Thanks for the prayers and good wishes, everyone. I'll update you after we see the vet this morning. :hugs

Oh, no, Ann - so scary. Sending my best wishes for a good prognosis for Pixie, your precious little girl. We get so attached to the ones that need us the most. :hugs

Update

I think the news is good. Seizures are such a tough diagnosis to nail down after the fact, but my vet -- who treated Pixie for her seizures when she was young too -- couldn't find anything wrong. She had bloodwork a month ago which was fine. So for now, I'm going to keep an eye on her and hope there aren't any more. If she has more, we'll do further testing.

It's so strange that this happened. Last week she was actually inviting Sprite to play and chasing her, something she hasn't done in years. She's been doing incredibly well given her issues that this was so out of the blue. Interestingly, one of the other vets told me that sometimes seizures can even be brought on by weather or seasonal changes which makes sense. We used to always see colic cases in the horses in spring and fall. Hopefully it's just something like that.

Thanks everyone for the prayers and good thoughts! :smile2:

I was thinking the wrong kind of spring fever:no: Seizures are a pesky thing, one minute all is well and the next they can be falling over. Maybe Pixie got with the Easter bunny and got a chocolate egg:eek2: or a bad jelly bean, or perhaps one of those awful marshmallow peeps. Tell her no more secret bunny picnics for awhile.

Do remember how they use to push spring tonics on us as kids-or was that just where I lived. Those were the absolute worst tasting stuff.

I'm so glad you vet thinks it's nothing serious. I hope you continues to improve so she can consider play some more.
