Preparing for the news.

Today's Update:
Teddy's pacing has pretty much stopped His food intake is above normal ,he is enjoying the lifting of his diet He just doesn't realize it's temporary. The Dr. wants wet food with his pain meds and antibiotics. (Ian, think Turkey Gravy :). ) He likes that. He is truly being the Velcro dog.
His incision is showing more scab material. And it's started to itch already. Had to stop him trying to scratch with his rear leg 2 times today . He wants to do a lot more than I will let him
Dr Brandon called again to check on him again today. My Dr doesn't do that. His blood work was ok and He cancelled Heart Guard and Next Guard for 3 weeks until all pain and antibiotics meds are done. I'm very thankful for all of your support and having a Doctor that is skilled and loves his patients.

You have a wonderful, caring vet for sure, what a blessing. I am similarly blessed with mine and it makes all the difference! Glad Teddy is feeling so good. It will be hard to keep him quiet but before you know it he will be back to his normal activity. YAY!!

What a wonderful update! It sounds like Teddy is feeling pretty good and will be back to normal before you know it. Probably before he should! We all know what it's like trying to keep these guys down. You're so fortunate to have a caring vet, mine is the same and it really makes a difference. I hope you're getting some rest too and can relax a bit now.

It's gonna be a long 2 weeks, You guys were right he wants to be active already.Right now pain meds are my saving grace. You give him that and gets sleepy. I am so grateful that he is doing as well as he is and due to that so am I.

That’s great that Teddy is doing so much better today! It really is something special to have a good vet. I’m planning on dropping off a Christmas card and some goodies this year to show mine how much I appreciate her. I hear so many complaining about vet’s (on social media) I like to go the extra mile for mine.
Enjoy your extra helpings while you can Teddy!😊…you deserve them!

Yes my vet clinic has I think 8 different veterinarian’s working there but my vet and another veterinarian actually own it. It can be hard to get in to see her as she’s only available on Tuesday and Thursday…the other 3 days she does surgeries.
It was too funny yesterday morning…I was too early for Blueberry’s appointment. Her appointment turned out was at 10:15, I thought it was at 9:30 (because I’d made Piper’s appointment the week before for 9:30). My fault and because I live 5 minutes away I figured I’d go back home and feed the other two rather than waiting 45 minutes.

When was the last time your vet saw you 45 minutes early??? It never happens! If anything I’ve had to wait 45 minutes PAST our appointment time.
So I had told the receptionist as I was leaving that we’d be back at 10:15.
I guess 5 or 10 minutes later my vet says to the girl oh I think I saw Blueberry out there…let’s get her into a room🤣…but we weren’t there anymore…
So I get a phone call from the receptionist…where are you? (As my dogs are going crazy because of the phone call.) and the receptionist then tries to gas light me into feeling guilty because I didn’t stay on the odd chance that the vet would see me early!
Never say never🤣…

Well Teddy has been home a week now and I didn't want to continuously post updates but thought it was time for one.
Overall I am very happy with his progress and how quickly he learns things. His incision is slowly healing and the puckering along it has disappeared as it's healing. All redness around the incision is gone and the abdomen area is not tight He still is on antibiotics and pain medication. So for 1 hour he is a very happy, sleepy boy. :)
He has learned if you hit the door jam just right you can make the pillow come off his head.
He also has decided that moist food is super yummy and will lick that plastic bowl clean as a whistle. If one of the cats come near , he will bring it to me so they don't get it. He gets 2 spoonfuls of moist food when we give him his meds. The Vet. wants us to do that so he has something in his stomach.
