Proctor and Gamble buy out

From I read, they want to sell holistic pet foods. that's why they bought natura's food . They are keeping the distribution plant and employees. I guess only time will tell if they make any changes.

That is upsetting. Hope they will not mess with the success that Natura's had. Somehow I doubt it , but we can hope.:(

I feed CA Natural, too.

I wonder how we can monitor if they change the recipe/standards or not. Doesn't seem like there is a lot of information out there about these things.

When I've done research for stories with food companies I've found some companies to be very forthcoming and willing to share information and others not at all. Innova, in my experience, has been one of the best I've ever dealt with both by email and phone for getting information on their entire product line. It will be interesting to see if that changes now.

I'd start with your pet food store...frequently the people there (if they're knowledgeable about foods) will know more than you can find out on your own. I'd also call the company and ask directly about formula change. Some will be up front and tell you but not all. There should be a phone number on every bag of food and it's worth a try to make the call.

Bailey has a sensitive stomach. She started out on wellness puppy food, but had loose stools after about 2 months. California Natural is the only food that seems to work for her. As long as they don't change the recipe or lower their standards, I will stay with it.

Interesting. Sadie had digestive problems and Wellness seems to be the only one that agrees with her.

That's why I shiver every time somebody tells me they feed their dogs Iams. :rolleyes2: Everybody and their brother knows about how they mistreat animals, and the terrible things they do to animals.

I used to work in the HBA (health and beauty aids) department before I moved to days. There's no way you could ever hope to not use any of the products P&G makes. 90% of the stuff at Wal-Mart in the cosmetics department comes from P&G. Shampoo, cosmetics (Covergirl, Max Factor, ect.), razors, soap, female care products, ect. It's not just dog food that they make.

There's also snack foods they used to dstribute for humans. It's been a while since I've worked in the grocery department, so I've forgotten what it was though. Some kind of snack mix.

It made me sick to my stomach after I learned what Iams was doing to dogs, and then having to go to work and know that I had to stock the shelves with products the same company made.

Yes that's what I'm worried about. I'm sure they're not going to have a press release if they switch to lower quality meat.

Maybe I'll stock up on some food now before they officially take over.

Gggggrrrrrr...........I am not happy about this turn of events.

We feed Innova.

I hate "empire building" and all those that sell out to it for the all mighty dollar and that is just what Innova has done selling to the empire of P & G.

Yes that's the problem with these big companies like P & G, there in everything we buy. Of course like you all I am sickened that animals are tested on, but what is a person to do? It's virtually impossible to buy only products that are not tested on animals

Well, Judy, if it makes you feel any better, Abbie switched to my TOTW without a hiccup. Maybe put it on the lsit of possibilities when/if the quality goes downhill. Then again, I'm not a fan of animal testing either, so switching sooner rather than later might have to be the way to go. Let me know what you do and if I can help.
