Puppy Mills list

Another place to "haunt" is Kiiji.

I go there from time to time, and found a post from someone looking to breed her female sheltie.

I couldn't help myself. Here is thread below. Start from the bottom and work up.

I haven't figured out how to respond to her yet.

Thanks for your concern, the only reason I am doing this is because I want a puppy and my sister wants a puppy, we love my dog so much that we only want one of hers, so no we cannot leave it to someone who knows what they are doing, if your scared of some competiition then don't be, we are only having one litter for personal reasons

Are you joking?

Do you know anything about breeding?

Please think about this seriously. It's a huge committment. And if you know anything about the number of unwanted or puppy mill dogs out there, you should reconsider.

I understand that its tempting to breed our pups, but really, I suggest you leave it to those that know what they are doing.

Thanks for listening.

If KiijiLisa and her sister want puppies like her current Sheltie, it would make more sense to purchase puppies from another breeding of that sire and dam. Who knows what the puppies would be like from a breeding with a dog she locates through an online posting? Reputable breeders are not likely to respond to her inquiry. She's either clueless or a puppy mill in the making.

Oh, I HATE Kijiji for listing pets! I saw one lady who listed her female dog to be bred to a male because she was tired of dealing with her dog going into heat and she didn't have the money to get her spayed. So let's deal with the costs of breeding instead

Isn't it amazing how ignorant people can be sometimes . I ran into someone like in Petco one time. He and his GF had a beautiful male GSD and were looking for things to calm him down because they didn't want to neuter him! Of course me and my big mouth I just HAVE to say something as nicely as I could, it didn't go over very well :uhoh:

So is she going to drown all puppies past 2? Is she going to have the mom and dad tested for possible genetic defects before breeding? Does she not even care??

Well, I finally did respond to her tonight.

Reminded her about what's involved in whelping and raising pups, and what will she do with the "extras".

I doubt she'll listen, but you have to try. :(

***transcript of Petco Incedent from the AP***

Male voice, "Excuse me miss.. any idea where we can get some drugs for our dog? He's pissing all over, marking his territory. And he keeps mounting the ol' lady..{sound of someone spitting into a spatoon)

Susan,"My that's strange. Have you removed his fuzzy dice yet? That should fix all those issues.."

Man, in an excited high pitch,"You want me to have a dog that's all spegatti and no meatballs?' (s squeak of disbeleif from the ol' lady..)

Susan,"Well it would be the best thing for him.. he would be better adjusted to live in your home and you would reduce the chance of certain types of cancer..Sir, don't roll up into a ball like that.. I was talking about the dog.. not you.."

Man, eyes glossed over..barely audible,"Not his nuggets of joy!!"

Susan,"Sir..get up.. it's ok..stop crying.."
