Puppy Road Trip

so the Canadian border patrol guy asked about stuff (mostly weapons) but mentioned drugs.
I said I had CBD dog treats. He asked of they were labeled and how much. I said yes and used my hands to indicate a small amount.
He asked to see them. when I moved to get out of the car, he asked where they were. I said the trunk. he said never mind.
But he told me to toss them before coming back to the US. Now, looking it up, Canada should have said no (hemp based CBD is treated as cannabis) while US treats hemp based CBD as fine. But Pico is gonna get plenty of treats from here on out! I think the plains will eat up quite a few (there were 30 in the bottle)

Ohh. and he took my apples (3). I knew I should have had one for breakfast!

he is in soo many peoples pictures.
there was a group of Chinese tourists who wanted pics. I said sure. they each took pictures of their friends holding his leash.
very odd. group of canadians waiting on the path got a kick out of it.

we did Maligne canyon and lake today. we only got there around noon. park wasn't busy but parking lots were all full

If the tourists were Taiwanese vs Red Chinese dogs are fairly uncommon and I believe something the well to do have. If I am right it was look at this really cool dog and he likes me for social media :) Or it could be he is friendly and good looking guy.

I might have broken Pico. yesterday was 13 miles of hiking. a 3 hour hike in the morning. an hour plus drive where he slept. a 3 hour hike in the afternoon (through mud and snow so not a lot of distance). another hour plus nap. and then a 2 hour hike in the evening in slightly less mud and snow where I decided to turn around early (it stays light here until after 9). No prancing to go potty today :(

Today an hour plus drive to catch a shuttle (which is another half an hour) so morning will be rest.
then all day at Moraine Lake, where we can hike, rest, etc. no big hikes planned, mostly smaller ones.

he did sleep pretty well though
