Gezzz.. I sure hope he gets better soon... no fun at a party in a crate. Can you just put him on a leash?

At times he can be on a leash but at times we'll let them run and play (it's especially a really big training building, one long room) so then he'll definitely be in the crate, I don't want him to hurt it worse. I think this may be why he had an accident in the house 2 days in a row..because his leg is still sore (he's not limping and it was getting better). Now of course we're back at square one with the resting.

Poor Finnie! Do you have any type of brace you can put on him? Hope he feels better soon. Yes, a crate stinks but he will be better off. Poor guy!
Unfortunately no brace. I'm not even sure where it is except it's his right hind leg. I thought perhaps a toe but he's allowed me to do his nails twice since he hurt it (a Dremel...I do nails twice/week) and didn't flinch or anything but he jumped on the bed last night before I could stop him and he yelped and held it up but can walk without a limp. I still think a toe though...he doesn't want to go in the snow, so maybe the cold hurts it. I bought him some socks (and a sweater lol) so we'll see if that helps, I had to take him outside twice this morning and he stuck to me like glue rather than walking around to do his business...not like him at all. I'm going to call vet on Monday to tell them to call me if they have a cancellation on Tuesday (our vet only sees patients on Tuesday and Thursday and she's booked up on Tuesday)...hopefully we can get in a couple days early.

Poor Finnie! What next? :gaah

our day started with rain, next snow and then more rain so everything is a slushy sloppy mess!!! Luckily he didn’t seem to mind and walked and did his business lol
Yup...as much as I hate the cold it's clean lol. At least it is when it's -22 :ROFLMAO:.
On a side note, I took Finnie outside with the socks on and he did much better, makes me think it is a toe. He was running and playing with the socks on.

I’m still looking for boots/socks that will fit him and not slide off in deeper snow.

Finnie has the skinniest legs! Took them out last night and 3 socks came off right away! He needs the medium to get past his paw but then it slides off due to skinny legs. I'm going to try sewing a piece of elastic into the top of sock. That might help...I hope.

So Finnie saw our vet this morning and although she manipulated his toes and joints on right leg and stretched out his hip (a little tense at first but turned out he was stressed by being on the table) she couldn't seem to find anything wrong. She couldn't find any swelling and temperature was normal. He did seem a little sensitive about his ankle initially so possibly a sprain? He's on Meloxicam for a week and I'll have to let her know how he's doing by maybe the 26th or so and if not better we'll have to do an X-ray (she's going to be on holidays the following week and I will only see her). She's just an awesome vet (been seeing her for almost 5 years and through Riley's sickness)...I can't stress enough how important it is to see your vet regularly and develop that relationship with them!
