Save Sally. Need ideas/help. Senior, sheltie/mix

It was funny when I was taking Sally's picture I kept trying to back away from her so that I could get a picture of her whole body. But, every time I took a step back she would take a step closer to me. I backed my way all around that little room. Poor Sally she needs some one to love.

awwww... I can just see her following you wanting to be close.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing.

Her reply was completely inappropriate. If that email had been directed at me I would have had a VERY hard time not replying with something equally rude. My temper some times gets the better of me. :o

Mine does too, and that's precisely why I didn't reply. :o That crap about "take a class" really pressed my hot button! But if I had said what I wanted to say to her (in writing, no less) it would've given *her* something negative to say about me, which could've reflected on this group as well. None of the above is consistent with the mindset that draws me to helping dogs in need of rescue, so I took the high road.

I think I will report her rudeness to PF -- I doubt they'll do anything with it... I wish I could think of a social engineering ploy to find out who her superiors are.

This morning on Sheltie Nation there was info about Sheltie Rescue Alternative, Inc.. I don't know where they are physically but they specialize in older dogs, especially those with medical issues. Perhaps you could contact them? If they cant' help you maybe they have some suggestions. The email address listed on their web site is [email protected].

Good idea, has anyone done so yet?

I'm sorry you were the recipient of this kind of negative response when you were just trying to help this little senior dog.
Everybody pray that a miracle happens for her and either an adopter or a rescue is able to go and get her.

This is such a good point! We don’t want or need any negative feedback directed toward us in rescue or Sheltie Nation. We save lives not get into email battles. As always, it’s best to turn the other cheek, ignore those with nasty replies, and focus on the people and groups willing to help us in rescue. This is all about Sally...

mmcginty, you did the right thing at the right time !!! Thanks for being a gentleperson and focusing on Sally's needs and not your own. To all of you involved in rescue a BIG THANKS...God will bless you for this.

Update: I think there are 2 rescues willing to take Sally. And I am going to foster her. I hate to get my hopes up because one of them said they would take her a few days ago and then said they wouldn't. But, there is at least a back up in case they back out again. The volunteers at the Cobb AC have been really working hard to help Sally. I think they guilted this rescue into taking her. I will give more details and info when I know for sure what is happening.

It's been an uphill battle for little Sally. Sally has hope.

How about a BIG THANK YOU to hrcarol !!!! for coming to Sally's rescue and fostering this little angel.

A Big Thank you for all of your hard work - MLamont and Hcarol!!! The least I can do is offer donations for her if she needs medical or really anything. Please let me know.

Oh dear oh dear, Sally's pictures and hopeful look in her big brown eyes are killing me! Hrcarol, Mark and everyone - thanks for trying to help this cute and deserving senior dog. Keeping her in my heart.

The alternative sheltie rescue is in Southern California.
