Yes -- the pole is in three sections. I can leave the base -- it's about six inches and bright blue, so we can mow around it. But amazingly, they haven't seemed to overdo it...yet.
Where did you buy it from. It looks really a lot of fun

I've been meaning to buy one FOREVER - ever since someone on the forum (probably you) suggested it.
I just added it again to my shopping list.
I love pup on the sidelines, quietly chewing her stick! It's like she's saying: "Finally, its mine, all mine! Noone to steal it from me because they're playing with that stupid ball!"
