I don't want to be cremated and I don't want to cremate my Shelties. Because I'd rather bury them, it does pay to plan ahead. When my Buttons unexpectedly died we had to act quick. I bought a $200 casket the next day from a couple who use to run a pet cemetery. Since it was Feb, the ground was frozen solid. I tried to dig through the ice but figured they'd be burying me next if I kept at it. So I rented a backhoe to dig the grave. For my other Shelties I'd like to dig the holes in the spring and then support the sides with lumber until it's needed.
Here is my babies grave. There is a much bigger bouquet of flowers in front of the stone now. I hope to have a nice carpet of grass growing this year. When I get the money, I may even fence in that area. I cleared out enough space for a couple more graves.
Here is the top shelf of the display case I bought for her. Her picture on the right was etched into marble.

If I had my choice, I'd be buried next to her when my time comes.
Here she is waiting for me at the Bridge.
I was just looking at the beautiful plaque you had made. Apparently buttons passed away on my birthday. Its sad to think that while I was celebrating you were mourning the loss of your beloved pet.

I know she will tend to all our lovely furbabies up there waiting for us to join them.
