Now that he is gone, it seems like we are being a bit like bullies by persisting in talking about him.
That's easily fixed.
It seems like there are some questions about why the thread is being left up, even after the OP asked for it to be taken down, and after the OP was banned. Let me address these.
1. Per the Terms of Service, users agree that they are responsible for what they say. That means that posts don't "disappear" if the poster later regrets them. There might be exceptions to this - say, if someone posted their home phone number and then realized that that wasn't a safe thing to do.
But if a user says something that they later wish they hadn't, the moderators aren't going to cover for them so they don't look like a donkey. That responsibility falls on the user.
2. We leave posts up after users are banned because this forum is intended to be an educational resource. There are learning points for everyone in this thread: for the OP, for the posters who responded, and for the moderators as well. Likewise, if someone who isn't a member of the community googles a similar question, they may see this thread and learn something from it.
