Southern Sheltie Gathering Highlights

Great collection of photos, all ! I love the sheltie lap photos and the group photos so much, and of course, the action photos are a hoot.

I've got a little bit of video, which I hopefully can figure out how to stitch / edit. Got it uploaded to my computer for starters. If anyone has an easy program for editing MOV files, I'd love to hear it.

Marguerite also has some video from her SonyCam. She headed for the mountains this week, but hopefully I'll see her video next week and we can figure out what to do with it. I so thrilled that Marguerite joined us. She is a quiet, unassuming person. She felt so comfortable with our group. And I think that the gathering provided a breakthrough opportunity for Skye and helped her start coming out of her shell.

Denise - I've just started going through your photos. I'd also love to get a few by email and will come back to you probably next week.

Michele - You and Brian are just wonderful to have hosted this again. Thanks for arranging great weather, food, favors, and pulling friends together.

I appreciate it!
It was so nice meeting you and your gang.
Gracie enjoyed hanging out with Callie. Maybe next year Duncan will be brave enough to play with the big dogs.

It was so great to meet you and the pups too. I just loved Duncan and Gracie. I know that Callie appreciated a mature, treat-loving gal to hang out with:wink2:

I loved the action pictures and just watching all those shelties at one time is just such fun. The Mia and Duncan pics are so special. The one of Snap sleeping is just precious. Sca sounds very laid back like my Zak.

Here's a link to my album of pictures from the Southern Sheltie Gathering:

A great time was had by all! We finally rolled in home at midnight. Our 4 shelties were completely zonked for the majority of the trip home. Russ drove the last leg of the journey and I sat in the backseat with all 4. I had to have him crank up some AC because 4 sleeping shelties really throw off some serious heat!

Sandstorm here;
Colonel Underpants and I shud hav come. I wud hav fun with Sca too. And there was a princess there too. I saw her picshur.

So as the days have wisked by since the gathering,I have enjoyed looking at all the awesome pictures thaken by each of you that posted links.

I have to say,I am deeply touched by some of these pictures. So many facial pictures that are screaming to be put in frames. I have saved so many pictures from here, facebook.I had to go buy more ink to be able to print these memories~

Denise, that camera of yours is something else.Even Brian noticed...Gee you can even see the droplets of water in those sprinkler shots of CRAZY Jasper!

Having all of you,for us was our highlight of the summer. Not being able to go home on vacation,we were able to devote the time, energy into pulling this off.The weather again,we could not have been more blessed.

Thank you everyone, for pitching in with donations, food,Russel thank you for cooking!
Sharing your saturday here with Victoria,it was so special for us.

Janet the bouquets of flowers were lovely.I have taken may of them, and hung to dry.It will be my keepsake of this year.

I wished though that folks would have signed the table cloth...but things get busy. Always next year.

Katherine,I have to say,the pictures of you with Mia,still bring tears to my eyes. She loved those moments with you.Thank you for spending them with her.
Denise, thank you for coming for breakfast,it was so awesome.

And Trapp & Jasper wish to say..they are so sorry for those "moments" when they were invading private areas. I swear I was so embarressed. Hopefully thier appointments will help that situation. I still am cringing on how many times Jasper was so pushy! Apologies to Sca,since he was the dog of choice.

Earnhardt was not himself on Saturday,he was a bit grumbly. He was removed from the party several times,as I could feel trouble was going to brew.He seemed to have issues with Cranberry. And we did not want another body check like last year.

Hopefully he gets to feeling better. His leg is lookin 100% better though. And is off all his meds.So I hope soon he gets out of this grumbly mood.

Thank you everyone,we are blessed to have all of you to share this fun day.
PS...I hope to see a blue merle or two next year....you know who you are!!!

He was calmer than usual. I think Trapp and Jasper trying to get him slowed him down a bit as whenever the horde got running they would cut him off. But he has certainly been fairly mellow and always easy going on the alpha dog front. His puppy class he was timid until he figured out they played (he is big in that). At flyball anyone that wants to run is his pal anyone that wants to grump is ignored. In general though he is passive as to 'calm' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Oe73CrJpQM he has his moments.

That video is one I never get tired of watching.Brian watched it today. He thought it was great.

Rob,I have to say,Sca is just an amazingly calm, mellow dog.He just goes with the flow. The bond that you share with him is so deep.
Thank you for traveling again this year. I hope next year you are able to come as well.

He is my buddy :biggrin2:

Oh and I seem to remember someone pestering Lexi last year sooo.... Sca might need a puppy to beat him up though.

Great pictures, looks like you all had a great time. I am getting a kick out of Sca being a lap dog after all the Sca tales, and his cool video. What I think is so neat and would be great to watch the interaction with granite's shelties daughters, sons, back with their moms.

That would have to be a great gathering for granite's shelties. Looks like everyone had a great time.

OMG!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pictures!!! I am so sad I could not be there!!! Turns out I got the summer flu, started on July 8th!!!! And just now starting to feel somewhat normal again (still coughing!!!) It has taken almost 2 weeks to whip this thing!!

I loved all the pics...and yes I want to know what kind of camera was able to show the water drops so clear!! I loved the sprinkler shots!! So many beautiful Shelties!! Emma and Noelle would have had so much fun.

Possibly were you referring to my Emma as one of the Blue Merles that needs to be there next year? LOL I noticed she would have been the only one in the sea of beautiful Sables!! (Noelle is Sable too).

So glad y'all had so much fun!! great pics, thanks for sharing!!
