Southern Sheltie Get Together~

Still hoping to make it. At some point I expect Sca will need to be banished to the pen as he thinks everyone will play non-stop :rolleyes2:

Pooor Earnhardt he gets used to his Sheltie then a whole army of them come in :lol:

The plan's were getting firmer for the month then I had a disaster on the way to the races (generator bracket broke) so my excess time dropped to nothing again :o At least the bike is mostly prepped for Michigan since I didn't race :(

And about the same in Arkansas (I live only an hour away from Texas, and I was born in Texas). :razz: I'm not going either. We'll be outcasts together. :wink2: My sister and I have our birthday on July 7th, so who knows what crazy things will happen that day? :biggrin2:

What an incredibley generous host(ess?) What a cool idea! I'm attending the Laura Romanik seminar that weekend, but if we could be in two places - we would be at the picnic! I love sheltie gatherings. :wub:

Wishing you a fabulous day and will anxiously await news of another meet up. I'll volunteer a park in Atlanta or Athens (we have some nice parks), unfortunately 3 would be a crowd in my tiny yard.
 
I am pleased to say that I will be joining the ranks as well with DH, dad, mom, and the three pups! There will be no doxies on the trip as it's a 3 hour drive from their house already and the uncle dogs are older. We're going to drive there and spend a day or two and then on Saturday, load all seven of us in the car and take a little trek!

I'm really excited to be coming. I know we'll bring a crate or two, but is there anything else? I'm not sure what all will fit in the car, however there's a small chance I could get my new channel weave poles in the car (unassembled, of course). That way even the novices can succeed. I'll see what I can do...

PS - July 3rd is Duncan's first birthday, so the day will be extra special!

Do let us know if you need accomodation's for an evening.I think Katherine & Calliesmom have booked at the Jamison Inn.Although it has changed names since they booked,but I can get you a phone number.

Thanks so much, but we'll just leave about 6-7 to get back to my parents house. We've got a cozy guest room already waiting for us!
 
Ok,with only a few weeks before the gathering,I was wondering what ya'll would or could bring.

This is what I have already:
Plastic utensils
plastic cups,plates

I will be ordering hamburgers & hotsdogs from work,will settle up with folks if you would like to help with that.

I've asked my son Eric,to make BBQ
So as with all southern BBQ,we must have coleslaw!

I will be making a macaroni salad,possibly a cucumber salad,and a broccoli salad.
And I will be making homemade mac-n-cheese (NY style with sharp white chedder)

We need chips,soda,rolls,condiments,any other type of snacks you may like.There are plenty of grocery stores here in town,we can always do a run to the store.
Those of you traveling,please do not travel with salads in the heat ok.Leave that up to me.I may even get David at resturant to make them for me fresh.

Feel free to PM me,to give me your thoughts,and what you can bring.

I do think I need to come up with another canopy,unless Sca's dad may have one to bring.As I only have come up with one,and I would like ot make sure we have enough shelter.
