Staying in hotel with new puppy

The breeder suggested leaving her in the car if she cries too much, but gosh I'd never sleep for worry.

I did think that at first, but admittedly breeders usually have to leave their multiple show dogs in cars/trailers overnight when showing because there's very few dog friendly hotels, which is why I need to keep this hotel on side.

Yes, Caro - but a little puppy just taken from her siblings.
Left in a foreign car all alone
she can get a trauma for life. (Separation Anxiety)

In my world
is a "Show breeder" absolutely no excuse to think like that

With that attitude a breeder
would quickly "be done" in my country.

After all, I have always had my dogs in my car a lot -
so i am not "car scared"
But my puppies slowly get used to the car

I agree Caro, I'd never sleep knowing she's in the car all alone...who knows what could happen!

I agree... NO WAY in the world would I leave a puppy alone in a car EVER! Especially, the first night way from all she had ever known...
In my eyes, that would just be cruel and might even have a lasting traumatic impact on the poor little pup.

I agree, it would be so traumatic and I imagine there'd be even more barking and crying. The breeder is otherwise a nice person so it did surprise, maybe she thought my dogs would sleep in the car too. But of course the girls will sleep on the hotel bed with me. I'd be lonely without them.

Oh dear. Puppy won't stop crying. she wants out.

Phew. Midnight and I got desperate and put a towel over her crate. Couple of whimpers and she's fast asleep. Thank goodness. Now I can go brush my teeth. Talk about a bundle of energy!
Addendum - well that lasted all of 5 mins. I am so not getting sleep.

Oh Caro! Hang in there... it's daytime here in North America, so at least you can keep company with us.

Sorry you are not getting much sleep Caro but look at the beautiful pup. One night of staying up will be so worth it to have that little face in your life!
