Tears and stains from only one eye

Just a little update, I've tried daily cleaning and it didn't work. His eye has got a little worse (see below photos) so I made a vet appointment but with it not an emergency I had to wait a little.
He really does not like going anymore as he was trembling really bad the poor little guy, he couldn't even keep ahold of Mr Broccoli. It was a much smoother handover this time and Mr Broccoli was able to go and keep him company at least. They've taken him in and given him a good look over, added dye to his eyes to check for damage/scratches etc and said they can't see anything obvious and it doesn't look like conjunctivitis. I've mentioned the drops Gloria posted but they've said we need to try something called Isathal for a week and see if it clears up.
I'm going to give that a go and if it doesn't work I have to go back in a week as they will give us something else.

Sorry to hear Monty is still having problems, Darren. I hope the new drops clear it up. If it's not conjunctivitis or an infection it's almost got to be some slight irritation, especially since it's only one eye. I'm assuming they checked his eyelids for styes. Checkers had a stye on one eye years ago that kept recurring and caused the same kind of irritation Monty has. Can you lift his upper and lower eyelids and check? We treated Checkers with various drops and treatments but she eventually needed to have it surgically removed. I sure hope Monty doesn't need that, knowing what he's been through with vets already!

Awww poor Monty! I'm glad they handled the hand over better than the last time!
I can imagine how stressful that was for him and for you...it's hard to let them go with a stranger, especially when they've gone through what Monty has!
I sure hope this treatment works and he doesn't have to go back!

So sorry this hasn't cleared up yet. It is a puzzle because the white in that eye doesn't show any red irritation at all which typically you would see with even a mild infection. Hope the drops solve the problem. Give Monty a hug from me if/when you can keep him still long enough for a hug!!

Sure hope the eye drops clear up his eye! Glad Mr Broccoli could attend the vet visit and provide much needed moral support since dad could not be there!
Let us know how he progresses! Can they culture the discharge from the eye to evaluate if it is a bacterial infection?
