They're Barking Fools!

Lady it's 19 scratching degrees outside and I live in the south where it is warm. Ain't nobody going for a walk today!

My works schedule gets changed in 6 days (yes!) so I am thinking this will help tons- in more ways than one. I won't always be working during the day. I'll be working some evenings and nights as well, but anything is better than overnights.

When did you get a poodle? :confused2::uhoh:
Fixed it for you Jessica. Sca got a much truncated frisbee session this morning for the same reason.

Is there anyway you can either take them for a walk or play with them to tire them out before bedtime?? I know Mine are usually play from 8-9:30 than an half hour to settle themselves and they go out for their last potty at 10-10:30 and than down to their beds.

I was thinking the same thing. So far this is the routine we are using with Kai'a. We make sure that from about 7:30 p - 9:30 p we are playing constantly. We also have started with a walk in the beginning of that time. The fetch and run and tug games, etc, after. At 9:30 we set her in the crate with the door open, she can come out but we stop the play and start using "Quiet" with her. Then at 10:00 or so we have our last potty and then it's up to the room and in the crate for bed. (We bring her crate upstairs into our room at night).

She might whine or bark for a minute or two, but is so sleepy she hits the hay pretty fast. Since she is only 11 weeks, we still get up at about 3 am to take her out to potty and she will go out and come right back in and fall back asleep. So far no barking problems in the middle of the night. And then we are up between 5:30 - 6:30 for breakfast, getting ready for work (and Devyn School) and we start our routine all over again.

I can imagine that having 2 means they will react and play off of each other, as almost everyone here with multiples will say. It must be very hard and I feel for you. Kai'a just found her bark about a week ago and she will find a few times during the day to bark her head off (mostly, strangely enough, at the end table?? :confused2: But I would go crazy if bedtime = barking.

Can you give them something they both enjoy (non-treat) that they can gnaw at or play with when you put them in the crate? To maybe distract them, and their mouths, at least for a little while?

What are you complaining about. I wish it was cold. Its 38C (101F) here and not even lunchtime. I pulled out of the agility trial this morning (mainly because I can't do this heat) but the pups still managed to run around the oval. The only good thing about summer is daylight savings. Can't even take nice pics of the pups and kitten because everything is dry and brown. Blah.

I agree you, I would love for it to be cold. Our summers are unbearable (115 for 3 months in a row). Right now it's about 40 and I am still sweating up a storm when we go out. I love the cold. Love it! Sorry Jessica ... I would trade you for the 19 degrees ANY day!

This is getting old, this cold weather we have had here in SC. And honestly,I would not mind it getting to at least 40 during the day. We've had 19 degrees and a couple of days colder than that. I know it must be worse in the mountainous regions of the Carolinas..as they have snow, wind,& frigid temps.

It's times like this, that I find myself wishing for spring & summer months. ANYTIME!!

I don't want 113 degree temperature. I want 75-80 degree temperature. I'll glady give you the 19 degrees. It has warmed up today to a toasty 21 degrees.

Fluffy decided to be completely random today. I came home, and she had went to the bathroom all in her crate. :rolleyes2: So I put her in Smudge's crate while I cleaned it up. I turned around only to witness her pee on Smudge's brand new pet bed. It was completely ruined.

So then she goes to play in the living room. She zooms at top speed, bounces off the side of the chair, and crash lands agaist the side of the tv stand. :eek2: Then she gets up and goes for more!

Where does she get all of this energy, and where can I get some?
