Toffee's Mom - he did better on grooming yesterday. I was able to run the brush over his back to his tail head and down both sides. It isn't layer brushing but I can live with that for awhile. He seems to like puppies- especially shih tzus. This is not the first one he has gone gaga for. I wonder if he was bred to one? Lord knows what idiot things they did at the mill.
He actually got to be the demo dog for mat work today with Mirkka doing the handling.
He's also coming out of the crate every morning just like Phoebe but still wants to go to the family room to be picked up and carried to the exit point. My brand new kitchen has mats everywhere. A runner for Rhiannon with a mat off each exit to the main part of the house, a mat for shoes and now a mat for Tinsel's crate. Ugly but effective!
The Maltese/shih tzu was adorable and the people were really helpful. They didn't seem to mind Tinsel coming in for their treats - of course their Rosie was loving mine. The daughter was great and actually did better on timing then her mom.
Tomorrow we go back into town for a little walkabout. I think we'll take Phoebe this time as well.
Oh yeah, yesterday while I was walking Rhiannon and Tinsel through the field my neighbour had something fall in what sounded like his garage that was really loud. Rhi, who is always off lead, went into defensive mode and trotted off with ears and hackles up to defend her mom and Tinsel went to the end of his lead with his ears fully erect with no sign of fear. Thank goodness Rhi is as well trained as she is and she came back as soon as I gave her a command. Poor Murray is afraid of dogs at the best of times. I think Tin would have followed Rhi right over if he hadn't been on lead! Surprised the heck out of me that he felt brave enough to show a challenge.
