Toffee may adopt a Sheltie brother

Of course that's not thinking about it too much. ;P

What color do you think he is? Would a double merle end up looking like that? Did you find out if he is deaf or anything? I'm sure regardless, he'd have a great family with you.

I suspect there may be a possibility he could be hearing impaired, but there is no mention of it. I also wonder if he is a merle to merle breeding, but we'll see

Yeah, not thinking about it much.. HA

LOL. When will you find out? BTW, hearing impaired or not, you can still do agility. Not sure what is near you, but the woman I know with the deaf Sheltie does NADAC and CPE. I don't think AKC/USDAA allow deaf dogs (which is sad, cuz her dog is awesome!).

I suspect he's a double merle as well. He looks so much like my Cooper. Being hearing impaired means nothing to Cooper. He is an active and happy boy. In fact he's the happiest dog I've ever known.

Yes, AAC allows deaf dogs. My friend and instructor runs a deaf Border Collie in agility... sure there are challenges because the dog would need all visual clues and no directional verbal queues, lol. Her dog Seven is also her NICEST dog of the 9, loooooves everyone and ALL dogs love her. lol, wonder why that is, seems all deaf dogs I have ever met are pretty awesome

Guess it is not going to happen, the rescue emailed me back and said it looks like he may already be adopted... with his Fosters, possibly?
If that doesn't work out they will let me know
But good for the little guy to have a good home :biggrin2:

I will just have to wait for my Borzoi puppy in another two to three years!

I always think these happen for a reason. We may not understand it at the time, but it usually works out for the best.

When the time is right, it is right.

Ah, I'm sooo sorry that you got your hopes up like that only to have them dashed. As a "foster failure" myself I can understand getting so attached to the foster dog that you just can't let them go. Mr. Toffee is going to have to keep the spoiling priviledges to himself a bit longer - sure he doesn't mind.
