Tully's not doing well

Caro, I just saw this. I'm sending much love to Tully and to you.
Dear St. Francis, please look with love upon Tully. She's in the hospital, and at her age, surgery is a worrisome thing. So please, guide the vets and technicians providing Tully care. Bring them to wise decisions and clear insights. Send comfort to Tully as she weathers this storm. nd be with Caro, who loves this precious SHeltie so very much.
In His Name we ask, Amen.
Once again, thank you Chris for your extraordinary posts that help us to seek a higher power to heal those we hold so dear! Blessings to Caro and Tully at this incredibly difficult time!

So exhausted I fell asleep on the couch last night.

Tully will be staying at the emergency vet for at least the weekend. She is very weak, not eating, and has the runs. On a positive note the confusion has lifted and she recognised me when I visited yesterday and was very happy to see me. Saw the scan of her gallbladder - doesn't even look like a gallbladder anymore. So on top of everything else, that's probably why she hasn't bounced back this time. The IMS's attitude is oh well, she's a Sheltie, it's to be expected. Adn yes I know Shelties are prone to GBM, but it has never appeared in her 4 siblings, nor her parents, aunt, many cousins or nieces and nephews. Tully's family all went to breeders around Australia so I've been able to keep up with them. So you can't tell me it's in her genes. But I do know IBD can cause gallbladder issues. I've been getting her scanned every 6-12 months so this has only shown up since she developed IBD.

Also had to take puppy to vet as she has a bout of gastritis too. Pretty sure it's from digging holes at the entrance to the horse paddocks while I stood and talked, possibly that dirt is also why Tully got sick. The puppy digging and eating dirt is driving me nuts, I know she has picked it up from Tully. But Tully does a little surface scratch before she eats the dirt, Kismet digs a crater. My yard looks like the moon surface. So there goes more cash in getting rid of the grass and laying down some tan bark to stop the access to dirt.

Sorry, prattling on, still really tired.

Oh Caro, I'm sorry to hear you're having such a tough time. Poor Tully and poor you. I don't mean to panic you, but do you know how soon they can remove her gallbladder? If it's that bad, I wouldn't delay any more than you have to. I don't know if they need her to rally some before they do surgery. I guarantee you she will feel better once that's gone.

I hear you on the dirt and digging. I don't know if you can get this, but I bought strips of fake grass (it comes in rolls) from Amazon and laid them along the areas that mine are prone to digging. You just secure them with big staples. It did help. Here's a link if you can find something similar. It might be cheaper and easier than replanting.

Thinking about you and sending good thoughts. Thanks for keeping us posted. :hugs

So sorry, Caro. I certainly hope Tully rallies soon. It has to be so draining to have two sick ones. I am not surprised by how exhausted you must be! Worrying and taking care of a new pup would get the best of any of us. Please keep us posted as time permits and know we are all pulling for you, Tully and little Kismet.

So sorry to see Tully is having to stay in over the weekend, I understand how hard that is! Hopefully she can get her strength up soon so they can get that GB out! It sounds like little Kismet is keeping you on your toes as well, no wonder you're exhausted!
I'll be thinking about you and sending positive vibes your way! Take care Caro and hopefully we get some good news soon!
