Tully's not doing well

I bet she collapsed because she is just weak as you think. It is hard I am sure to do too much with out her getting tired! Although you would not have guessed that with the escapade of tearing the house apart recently!
Yep, both Monty and Tully are going too need some rest and special care and attention to recover!

LOVE Pup-zilla :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:;)

Thanks. We had another bad night. Tully was restless and last night when I took her to toilet was looking confused and dazed. She did have a bark at the puppy this morning, but it was more of a 'get out of my face' bark. I don't know whether it's because I took her for a little walk yesterday with the other two. But we didn't go far because I can't walk properly.

I'm also concerned about her rear end weakness, as she keeps dropping, falling and slipping. Maybe the combination of the lack of walking and the steroids? I am worried the false hip may have lost cohesion.

For some reason the steroids are really affecting her, even though she's been on them for a while. She is getting a lot of the side effects you see in higher doses.

I don't know what to do. Tully's continued decline is not good.

I’m so sorry Tully isn’t improving. Could the steroids be affecting her more because she’s weaker from her illness? And also perhaps affect her equilibrium and balance.

I don't know and I just don't know who to ask. Her Internal Medicine Specialist has not returned any of my calls all week, and the general vets aren't able to step in when she's under specialist care.

I read that pred causes a lower gallbladder emptying rate so I worry that staying on this dose is just going to make her gallbladder worse. I'm also a annoyed that the IMS should have known this and if he saw a slight mucocele 18mths ago why did he not tell me and why was he not monitoring it, knowing she was on Pred and she's a susceptible breed? He keeps blaming Sheltie DNA. Although I know Tully's litter and lines haven't had GBM (they all went to breeders).

I'm tired, I'm annoyed with the IMS, and also very angry with the dog food company who made it impossible to stabilise her because they gave me misinformation on 4 different occasions so I was feeding her something she was allergic to. Plus there's always the guilt because if I hadn't gotten cancer and trusted others with my dogs I may not have lost Deska and be battling losing Tully too.

Oh please, Caro don’t beat yourself up. God know how much you loved Deska and want to keep sweet Tully around for as long as you can.
Are you noticing any waisting of muscle mass in her hind quarters? Mr Chance did as he was falling over similar to what you are describing with Tully. I was concerned as well and went to the vet for advice. She just kinda snapped at me saying “he is an old dog!” Certainly not the compassionate response I was looking for to say the least! I ended up getting a massage therapist in every other week and was astonished at how well he could walk again. Apparently, the massage stimulates the blood flow to those areas. Again, like Sharon stated, I am grabbing at straws too.
All I know for sure is you did everything in your power to help with the guidance of those you trusted! Like we saw with Monty, vets are not infallible! Virtual hugs to you both! I certainly hope she can rally! I know you are too!
She is one sweet lass!
BTW, I no longer have that same vet!
