Two headed dog walking!

I used a coupler once upon a time with Capers (32 lbs) and my labrador (80 lbs). It was OK, however if the two girls wanted to go in different directions, Capers was out of luck ! Capers was also a twirl-pooper, so she had a disadvantage in close quarters....

I'd think with your two, being about the same size and age, that they'd be fine together. Just remember, when that squirrel or distraction emerges, you've got twice the horsepower on that leash.

I walk Snap and Capers together, each on extendables. For the most part, it's OK. However, Capers is conditioned to walk on my left; and I'm thinking of doing something (rally or obedience) with Snap... so he really needs to be on my left for that. I've had to resort to taking him out separately on a short lead to work on heeling.

It all sounds very complicated...maybe I'll give up walking, through the pups in the back yard to chase each other, and spend the extra time on the forum!

I have been really lucky with my 4 walking.
Walking them side by side took awhile, introducing them 1 at a time - they found there place in line and all four now walk on loose leash for each dog.
Keeping the leashes in one hand whatever side you feel comfortable with.
Alway's remember that you are top dog, and they are to stay by your side.
I found that when one or another starts to lead ahead of me I give them the command "Back" with a minor correction to there leash.
Like I said it takes awhile and lots of praise but it is so worth while - we all get to enjoy our walks without pulling or going in different directions.
Hope this helps and have fun on your walks.

It would make it easier to walk them this way, if you only had to deal with one set of legs! But you still have triple the food to feed! :biggrin2:

Thanks for the advice! It's terrific! Once the salt is off the streets, we'll start. I honestly cannot wait to show off my pair of pups to the neighbourhood. Bacca on his own was enough of a sensation! :biggrin2:
